As mentioned, the darned seller forgot to ship the Operator's Manual
and this is my first Stern (B/W guy); went through the menu many
times, but can't figure out how to lower the volume. (I set
everything to factory default, but it's loud enough to wake the
dead. I've been going to standard adjustments, backbox volume (which
is default set on 01), but no matter if I take it all the way up to
15 or from 15 to 01 with the "-" sign or the "+" sign, the volume
(during the test mode) and after stays the same. (I see these Sterns
don't have a simple volume control like on a B/W...hmm).

Thanks in advance! Neil

Locate service switch set on coin door (red green and black buttons).
Press red to enter volume menu. Press red to increase, green to
decreae volume. Will auto exit a few seconds after last button
pushed.

Did you adjust the volume at the coin door using +/- without going
into the menu? That should do it.

You might be over thinking this.

Turn the game on, open the coin door. See the diagnostic buttons ? See the
red one labeled volume ? Push that, keep pushing it to lower to the point of
being off, green button increases volume.

Don't mess with volume in game adjustments - that is just for background.

Yeah, Stern does things their own way. Wait until you see that Stern
manual too, not exactly simple like the B/W either. Anyway, enjoy
your new game!
