Rumor has it that all WOZEC LE's sold out and are only available
through distributors now. Only the regular standard model WOZ is
available now. I also hear that Jack is very operator friendly, and
is offering special purchasing/leasing plans, free bill acceptors,
free credit-card acceptors (this is called something else but I can't
come up with the word now) etc for the ops exclusively. Check it out:

http://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/ourgames.aspx

Hey EZ E, I hope you were able to get a few the LE's before they were
all gone; seriously :)

Weren't these supposed to be in peoples homes by now? I haven't heard
anyone receiving their machine yet.
Actually I thought I heard December 2011.

creating a phenomenal pin from scratch on a brand new platform and

uncomprimised quality. The next Jerrsey Jack pin might take slighly
less to make (steamlining), but I don't think Jack will make any
compromises on quality. It would be easy to roll out six titles a
year otherwise.

I think after Wayne, Gene, Herb and whoever I'm leaving out, most peoples
expectations are more realistic. It's funny how the people who aren't buying
seem the most impatient.

I'm not buying...(cant affort to!) but I'm also patiently waiting to
see and play this masterpiece! One day, I'll have the dough to nab
one, just wont be NIB

Let's keep in mind that this "limited edition" run of WOZECE is 1000
units. That's more than probably any regular run of Sterns in the
last several years.

I didn't come up with the dates - the manufacturer did - and
apparently those dates have been moved back what looks like at least 3
times now.

Funny no one has asked to see a board set? Wonder why? I bet their is
nothing inside the game! I just want to know if you're getting an Ipad
if you buy a WOZLE? Is their any game code that's not on the Ipad?
Who's been lying?? He was sold out a year go, so now he's sold out
this time?? I guess sold out should mean I can't get one. Trust me I
can get one. You kidding? Plus factor in guys I know on the fence that
are waiting for the machines to be released so they can play it. Then
they will decide if they are going to accept the game from JJP. What
are you going to make people take games a year late? Factor in people
not paying for their machine. I've got one friend that's never been
asked for anything other than $1250! He has a balance due. Oh ya he
canceled and had 2! It's the same broadcast from JJP, different
location. Stern sold of X-men day one. Oh ya I can get that machine
also. Don't worry WOZLE isn't BBB. Keep buying into the smoke screen!

That's because we are waiting to see if we want to buy one or not. I
am on the fence, so I want to see this game first (the theme is not a
must have for me, so I didn't preorder). I'm sure the game will be
great, but I will wait and see (Tron LE was an exception to my
preorder rule... I had to get that) :)

I don't get all the anger and hate. It's only pinball! Geez. I bought one because I wanted to support the hobby and someone new making games. I also bought a Monopoly for the same reason. If you love Stern games, that's great. I personally prefer 1980-1999 Williams games and 1980's Gottlieb. I hope that WOZ will be a huge hit and will be mind blowing. I hoped that for Monopoly but was disappointed when it arrived.

Why do you hate WOZ so much?

It is very strange how much you despise everything about it.

You should be happy that you are not getting one, instead of being so
angry that other people are buying the game. It's weird.

EZ SLEEZE E is like a rabid dog!! Here - I'll add a little fuel to his fire: Jersey Jack just raised the price of the standard edition WOZ from $6500 to $7000 starting on July 1st......... and.... BEGIN!

Strange you somehow connect my comments with hate. Go look up what
hate is. It's just the facts. Funny how someone takes counter point
and it's somehow hate. I find it amusing that a guy fails to meet his
own time line, hypes like a car sales men and under delivers. Somehow
Stern is already dead. The facts just don't support most peoples post.
Games not sold out, fact. It's a shell of a game, fact. We see
flippers and lights and ZERO code in the machine, fact. Everything you
could ever want is on the Ipad, fact. Where is the board set? Where is
the GI? That's concern you guys don't want to talk about? You've got
money in the game. I don't. Let's talk. But the game will ship in 30
days and have ZERO issues. REALLY??? I'm I getting an Ipad? Are the
parts made in the USA or CHINA? Any bets the boards are made in China?

I, for one, don't believe that your comments are hateful. They are
misinformed though. Let's talk about the board set, for example,
(which will govern the new platform, the color-changing rgb lights,
the sound, the gameplay, the whole shebang )-- now, you don't expect
Jack to share all that with us at this juncture, do you? I hear that
the boards are multi-layered, durable, high quality SMOBC silk screen,
solder mask boards that will be able to handle whatever Keith can
throw at it, without frying. Speaking of which, I hear that Keith
wrote the limited code for the Beta model WOZ's attract mode(in
Seattle) while he was on the plane with Jack flying down there. As
you know, Keith's been working on this project for about a year and a
half, and, if I were to believe what you are saying, that's all Keith
did in one and one half year? Geesh, either you're missing something
or I'm missing something.. BTW, JJ just announced that the price of
regular WOZ will go up from $6500 to $7000 effective as of July 1,
FYI :)

Agreed, Charles - that is an INSANE task for one person to do. The entire OS, diagnostic routines AND all the code for WOZ which will likely employ WAY more subroutines that any other pin ever made plus filling all that LCD real estate with real-time information and animations. It does seem to me that this would take a team of at three coders. I wonder if Jack is subcontracting other coders or if Keith is just ready to blow his top?

You said nothing about an OS in your original post.

I can't say I have been at all ethuised with what Stern has put out
lately let alone the WOZ theme but I am 100% grateful that they are
doing what they are doing. Wish the negative people could at least see
things in this light. But then again RGP would be majorly boring
without the tiffs I'm afraid. The chances are eventually somone will
put out a title that you like and plays even better! To me that is
well worth the wait.

And will continue to be so since these machines likely are not going out
on location but into club status collections. I will be surprised if I
see 10-20% of these games out of box at all, and 10-20% on location.
50-60% will be in private homes for status symbols. Fucking pathetic on
all accounts, buyers, distributors and manufacturer. Boutique pinball
is the death of pinball for the beer drinking guy.

It's mainly hype to push a product. That's what you guys miss. The game
is no where near done, but again the masses think it will ship next
month. Everyone forgot about March fast, they'll forget about July also.
JJP is banking on it! Bet on maybe the end of the year. Sub-contractor
issue? It's all subbed out! That's why you don't have a game or board
set.

I don't know when the machine will be delivered. I am hoping by Christmas. Honestly i really do not mind waiting for a beautiful custom machine that will set the BAR of call machines to come. Why do you think everyone is dumping their B_W machine now of ridiculous prices? Because JJP is producing a machine that will be far superior in quality than anything we have previously seen. For about the same price as lets say an AFM? What would you rather have? Newest technology or 20 year old technology for the same price. It's a no brainer. Hello!? The theme I bought because my whole family will like it. That is what jack is on to. And that is exactly what pinball needs. A re-ignition. A machine that all ages and can appreciate and enjoy. even if they never played a single gam e of pinball before.. JJP has to be given big props for doing so, YES. IMHO it was not a good move to present an unfinished machine at the show. I would match rather have seen a completed verison but thats just the way it went. These things take time and patience,. Jack has his name on the game. He has a lot invested and he will succeed. Its just going to be a little bumpy at first. And I expect that as a collector and consumer. BUt not everyone is like me.

You guys should be glad that we are seeing new machines period from any company be it JJP or Stern.. the crop is getting thin and its time to start growing again. And that is what we should ALL be happy about.. forget about he said she said shit..

You're absolutely right. Gene and Herb can themselves tell you how
many years it took them to deliver, but deliver they did. As I
wouldn't necessarily mention these two gentlemen's names in the same
paragraph with Wayne's, I wouldn't exactly compare WOZ to the limited
runs on BBB and KD, respectively, either. No offense intended ( I do
feel I must pay special homage to Herb's approach to retro pinball
though). WOZ, on the other hand, represents a much larger and truly
viable commercial team effort and a brand new platform which will
almost certainly take pinball several generations forward, witout
damaging pinball as the game we all have come to love.

I believe very childish revisions of the software and 'finished'
hardware will be on site in test locations by end of summer of sure, and
product available to purchase of xmas in 'volume' meaning maybe you can
get 1-2 machines even if you ordered 20 for resell/distribution (except
a few big buyers that will get more due to their level of commitment).
The game looks promising for the sissy crowd, the folks that actually
wear slippers to dinner or around the house. I'm thinking JJP is
missing a great market in SF, CA and they should offer 'go girl 2' type
topper and extended slippers to the game for those markets. Seattle,
Portland (theme here, west coast folks) would dig this 'liberal' agenda
pinball while stripping it of the 'theme' for the central, south and
some east coast while boosting same kind of sales to the Miama crowd may
make some sense as well.

In the end, even if we don't really know how it actually plays because
software rules don't exist yet/ever for the end user, this game has
potential to appeal to a larger crowd for hardcore players, those that
like quality construction (clearly it is made better than GaryCo
machines) and the women/kids/liberal crowds in the metropolis/exs of the
world.

No hate just the facts. Try not to cry WOZ buyers. Jack actually I was
in on day one for 2 and out at the 1 year mark when it was clear that
the game was no where near ready. I posted on the JJP google group
back in ~Dec 2011 the game was 8 to 10 months out at best if JJP is
telling the truth and the game is being built at Area 51, Groom lake!
That was when the "Top Secret" comments still worked on the masses.
Posted my games for sale! No buyers! NONE! You should have seen the
guys bitch and claim they'd bail out if they had to wait till Aug
2012. Plus how the hell do I know?? Does your brain work? Now you
understand why the horse and pony show from JJP doesn't work for me
and it's old. It's a shell, anyone seen the core of the game or is it
running off a Ipad too? Ya I know Stern trying to find out, JJP is
running the Wonka Pin-factory!! If it's taken this long wait till all
the production issues start to pop up and that's just normal for a
start up. It was my fault for actually thinking he knew what he was
doing and could make his own time line. BTW JJP watch out for "Mr

He is talking about the fact that Jack was showing the video that is
supposed to be on the machine from his iPad at E3. At some point, they
have to get that integrated into the machine.

I don't think that anyone will be enjoying WOZ in July. Just doesn't
seem feasible at this point that they can make that kind of progress
AND get machines built and out the door in that time frame.

And distributors wanted $6500 for X-MenLE and now hyping it up to
$7K..

I bought WOZLE's #16 & #1000. It doesn't matter what # you got. It matters "when" you ordered your WOZLE.

I ordered mine within a day of the announcement, back in Jan 2011 (approx 18 months ago). They'll both ship together, probably on one of the first shipments, of blocks 20-25 sent out.

Jack said that it would not run on a PC and would run on a board set.
Has this changed and been confirmed? I have read a lot of people taling PC but everything from JJP says nope...

I guess you guys didn't get the partial picture of the board about a
year ago. He said a board set! As I stated it's running off a PC/
Ipad(WPC) because he doesn't have a board set. If he didn't you'd see
it! It's a Frankenstein right now, he's got to stop the bleeding and
come up with something. How fitting the title is WOZ, don't look
behind the curtain. Stern keeps dumping games on the market and people
keep buying. Ya July! 2013! I'm getting a lot of PM from guys that
canceled! Funny how long that list is getting now!

It's all in how you look at it... Jack is a salesman and not a tech
guy. Technically a custom CPU board running some sort of Linux kernel
*is* a PC. I'm sure JJP designers don't want to fall into the trap of
using a particular off-the-shelf PC motherboard then having it go
obsolete and have to switch to something that is similar, but not the
same. It makes a lot more sense to design your own CPU board that can
be built to your own (owned) specification for years to come. Is it a
custom board? Yes. Is it still technically a PC? Yes.

I don't want anyone to fail, I ordered 2 and canceled, because what
you're now seeing. The facts are the facts. If you've got $6500 in
play this is starting to look like a train wreck and some have a hard
time admitting it. It's going to be funny to hear the story next month
of where the games are? Strange after 18 months guys are starting to
wonder where is may game?

He had ordered a WOZ and then cancelled. It seems like he's worried he made a mistake and wish he'd kept it.

There's really no valid reason he keeps bashing JJP other than trying to convince himself he didn't make a mistake. It seems like he regrets his decision.

Why else would he bother with all the posts? He should just be happy he got out.

It is a TROLL who's found an irresistible topic (for a while). It will
continue to bray until the game releases and by then it will have to
continue to criticize to maintain exposure.

Expect more of the same, be it positive or negative with each new game from
whomever. Best to ignore it.

To answer your question, here's the progress timeline:

http://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/inthenews.aspx

Again, WOZLE's are all s-o-l-d o-u-t, except a few still remaining
which
may still be obtained through distributors and third parties. The
regular
WOZ is now priced @ $6500 but will go up to $7000 as of July 1st.
You can still order the regular version OZ @ $6500 until July 1,
2012:

It is not sold out...JJP sold out all of them but the distributors who

Well how would you describe it then, cody?

When the manufacturer has sold out, and yet there are still distributors with them unsold, what should we call that?

Because that means TFLE is not sold out. Actually it means damn near every Stern of the past 5 years is not sold out. SM is not sold out. LOTR LE is not sold out, etc etc etc.

What about if a distributor still has a CV and a NGG NIB sitting around in the back? Would CV not be sold out? How about the distrib who held onto the NIB BK forever? BK's are not sold out right? LOL

I think honestly if the manufacturer has sold every unit, then you have to consider them sold out, otherwise you really can't ever use the term. Games get hoarded and marked up by certain distributors and it's really impossible to keep track of that stock.

The OP stated it perfectly correct, that JJP is sold out but that they are still available from distributors, much like TF, SM, LOTR, IM, ACDC, etc etc etc.

If product is still available through normal channels, it ain't sold out.

In the current boutique state of limited production, "sold out" should be
more scrutinized and questioned than ever.

That old crap isn't in production so doesn't matter.

Gotcha. So basically almost no titles from the past decade are "sold out" as I assume you consider ebay, distributor websites and the telephone to be "normal channels."

You're just being argumentative.

Ebay would be included in as a normal outlet if it is an authorized
distributor/reseller.

Of course distributor websites are included.

I think the terminology being confused here is "Factory Sold Out" versus
"Sold Out".

Anyway, I was just commenting that is was funny to say something is sold out
except for a few left.

Actually it was you who were being argumentative by contradicting the OP's use of "sold out."

I was simply making you aware of the fact that if you define "not sold out" as still being available NIB from distributors then basically almost no titles from the recent past are 'sold out' according to your definition of the term, and that it technically could be applied to leftover NIB games from previous decades.

I do agree that the term should be "Factory sold out," and yet in that case the term "sold out" for new titles should almost never be used because there's almost always a few NIB lingering, off the radar or on.
