Good Morning Pinball Fans,

Today I received an email from Pascal Janin, who is widely known for
his excellent PI-1 and PI-1x4 Gottlieb System 1 replacements boards.
Pascal has been busy duplicating that feat for System 80 games. The
text of the message is included below. FYI.

-------------------email from Pascal--------------------------

Hello gentlemen, subscribers, and friends,

I am slowly but surely clearing up my emails, safely put aside since
year 2004 :)
back then, you showed interest in my "soon-to-start" Gottlieb
system80/80A replacement board project..

I did not forget any of you but the project was further delayed..
until april 2007 when I proudly presented my first prototype board
ever of an all-in-one board at our biggest french pinball expo.

board's codename is PI-80.
like my best-selling PI-1 X4 for system1 games, it groups CPU, driver
and power supply, all redesigned from scratch (& improved).
the software was also written from scratch and embeds many of the
great PI-1/PI-1 X4 games features.. and even more!

here is the LIST OF IMPLEMENTED GAMES as of 1-Oct-2009 :

System80 :
- mars god of war
- panthera
- spiderman
- pink panther
- time line
- grand 8 (european kit from Christian Tabart, based on panthera)
- haunted house
System80A :
- alien star
- q*bert's quest
- amazon hunt
- super orbit
- royal flush deluxe
- jacks to open

JEUX A VENIR (completion dates with reservations) :
System80 :
- eclipse
- force II
System80A
- devil's dare (end of 2009, both domestic -speech- and export
versions)
- black hole (january 2010, maybe export version first)
- spirit
- eldorado city of gold

a new game is added roughly every 2 months.

I also attached a picture of the board, installed in a Mars God of
War.
the installation is a breeze: just swap the driver board for it.

a sound board extension is planned, but for now you will need to keep
your existing sound board (classic or speech).

and the price: 250 euros + shipment (to anywhere in the world).

more details (in french.. for now) here:
http://www.flipjuke.fr/nouvelle-carte-janin-pour-system-80-souscription-ouverte-t43486.html

and the boards ARE available right away.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to write back!!

all the best,
--Pascal.

I didn’t know Pascal was working on this. Excellent news, Chris.
Thanks for posting.

Any chance these will eventually be able to support 80B games?
