Would you say your mix dries with a more purple or blue tone (I know
it's subjective, but your best guess is fine). I'll probably have a
can mixed regardless, since I don't want to lug the head to Home Depot
to do the match.
Thanks,

Regarding the Semi-gloss versues Gloss question, I know when I repaint
a door I use a flat paint because otherwise semi-gloss looks too
glossy... I read a thread once that if you put too much paint on it
will have that effect... and while I use very little (two light coats)
it does appear too glossy... maybe it's because the coin door already
has paint on it... but that has been my experience... YMMV...
Take it for what it's worth... Be your own judge... If you find out
differently, I would also welcome suggestions as well...
I also have a Whirlwind color match... which is a lighter blue...
should anybody be interested...

Thanks for the kind words... and the protectors!
For the head and insides... I fill any deep gashes with wood putty ,
then I use the grey side of a "Black and Grey" sanding block and 600
grit... (If you don't it just won't look smooth), Use a 2"sponge brush
(sponge is the key) and apply 2 light coats, letting the first dry
throughly before applying the second... It will dry unevenly so don't
continue going over it trying to pick up the "Missed" spots... They
aren't really missed... just looks that way and will wind up gumming up
the previous coat... just paint the cab... the second coat will fix
anything that may have been missed...
For the outside of the cab prior to decals I wouldn't use paint, but
I'm not an expert at applying decals, I would however remove old decals
and adhesive, then belt sand or use a DA followed by automotive
clear... I wouldn't use Varathane because it tends too "tear" and takes
too long to dry between coats...
I will make a second post in the next day or so with the Whirlwind
color specs, Maybe I can post the pictures of the Whirlwind cab I'm
doing now... I have discovered even a simple thing like painting the
inside of a cabinet requires a certain technique...

Thanks for posting the info. I've added your formula
