Since most of you are from the USA, you're probably not familiar with the
CBC show "Dragon's Den" which is kinda like American Idol for entrepreneurs.
One of my fave shows on television, and I could see a similar show go
bigtime on American TV... Anyway, the basis of the show is each week a
selected bunch of startup businesses come on the show to seek investments
from five rich Canadian investors. Most contestants crash and burn, and
have horrible ideas. Some end up sealing deals and get the handshake(s).
Now this isn't pinball, but it's close (coin-op)... two guys were on last
week pitching their revival of brand new modern bubble-hockey tables.
It didn't go so well. Kinda reveals how business sees coin-op in general.
Made me think of Gary Stern looking for investors and the kinda heat he
probably gets.
Anyway, I'll let the show speak for itself.
I don't know if the CBC website is viewable worldwide, but this is how you
watch the episode:

*EPISODE 6*
Begin watching at the 16 minute mark (16:00)
Hope it works.

A show like you described came to the US in the last year called
"Shark Tank". The idea probably came from the show you mentioned like
other new startup shows.

From the USA, I get:
We're sorry the video you selected cannot be streamed outside of
Canada.
Doesn't ICE still make these?
Kirb
Very well built game.

You can watch it here http://www.veewow.com/playlist-iE-Dragons-Den-Series-6
I couldn't find it on there???
It is series 6 Episodes 1 through 6, but I didn't see the coin op?
Anyone else find it, and if so..what series number and episode number?
I would like to see it.
Thanks
Mark
It's not there. Those episodes look like they're from the UK version
rather than the CBC version.
Two of the cast members from the CBC version (Herjavec and O'Leary)
are also on the US version of the show called Shark Tank. I tried
searching the web for the CBC version of the show but couldn't find
it.

That sucks, but now you know how we feel when people post links to
Hulu, NBC, CBS, Comedy Central, etc.
I hate how sites put arbitrary blocks on international IPs. Internet
content should be available from anywhere on the internet.
The veevow link below isn't the Canadian show. It's a BBC version from the
UK. Not the same episode. :(

Hey Kevin
I see that it is Episod 6, do you know what season it is from?
There are several CBC versions on youtube, most are listed by season,
not episode.
Thanks Mark
Season 4
Thanks, I checked through season 4 (there isn't much from that season)
and nothing coin op related : (
Oh well, sounds interesting....if anyone in the US gets it to work
please let me know!
Thanks Mark
I checked it this morning & it looked good. Players moved well &
looked a little bigger. The handles looked kind of wimpy.

...you sound bitter. :)

I agree, but traditional media companies sliced up the world by geographic
region. Eventually that'll fade away (one network one planet stuff), but
it'll be a few years.
