If ya had the choice between the two that are in good condition for
the same price which would you go with.

Wow, that is a tougher one. They are both a fantastic challenge. You
can't really go wrong either way IMHO. I have both, so I didn't have
to make that decision, but I did buy the STTNG first and I consider
STTNG the best pin of all time, so I would choose STTNG. No shame to
RBION though, that pin is a very underrated players game. Very deep,
very difficult and hard to learn quickly.

Hard to compare those two as they are on completely different ends of
the play spectrum. Personally I think STTNG is a much better game, but
RBION is tons of fun too. Pricing should be very close.

What other games do you have? What play style do you prefer...fast and
flowy, or more stop & go. STTNG is pure Ritchie, arguably at his best.
RBION is Lawlor through and through and has been refered to as the poor
man's TZ. Is theme important to you and if so, which do you prefer?
Both games fit their themes perfectly...STTNG is more serious and
action/battle oriented while RBION has more of a quirky sense of humor.

You really can't go wrong with either, but STTNG is consistantly rated
higher and rightly so. That doesn't make RBION a bad choice though.

I currently have LOTR, LAH, ID4, and Time machine. I seem to like all
types of play. I don't really pay to much attention to themes all that
much, just the fun factor.

Ripley's is the easy choice. I have owned STTNG before and they are
gone while RBION is still down in the gameroom getting played all the
time.

Very different games.

STTNG is a drain monster.
Rbion has long ball times with the chance for a lot of extra balls.

Both are deep.

RBION is very stop and go where sttng has more flow.

Personally I prefer rbion (and own it). RBION is tough to get the 7
letters, or to get the award you want from three in a row.You earn the
letters. STTNG can feel unfair if it heads for the outlanes.

I have both and like STTNG more. The effects and sounds are much
better, more toys as well. But STTNG can be brutal for the novice
player. Those outlines can be killer. (unless you have modified them)
RBION is a little more friendly for the novice player. (I think)

People always go to STTNG first because it is something the recognize,
but I think they play RBION more in the end. Think they end up feeling
like they could hit shots easier on RBION.

I would also go with RIBON and do agree that while I can usually get a
few letters it's very tough for me to get them all.

My wife wanted this one (if your wife actually wants any pinball
machine you buy it regardless) but after buying it and playing it I
really enoy it and will keep this one :-)

Personally I feel STTNG has more flow while RBION is more stop-n-go
mostly due to the mini pf.
I give the nod to RBION as well.

Speaking of Star Trek - only audio NSFW

Very different games, and I like both, but STTNG will be easier to sell
and will hold it's value or go up if you end up selling down the road.

Have you tried STTNG with the lane guide extensions? I know mods like
this are taboo, but if I read correctly, even Richie thought they were a
bit too short. The extensions don't add much, but do add enough to
bring the drains down a bit.

And my vote is for TNG, but I'm a little biased.

Have had both - would call it even for gameplay and fun - I would
choose based on the theme you like better. I sold the STTNG that I had
- only reason was no more room and the RBION I have is HUO.
The ladies seem to like the RBION better - so take that into
consideration.

Aaron,
You already have one, so after the mixed bag here, I'll probably get
the Ripley's so you can come over and play that one since ya didn't
get to play Star Ship. Then I can play STTNG at your house.

Crap, why didn't I think of that! Of course. Like I said, Ripliey's is
a much better choice. Yes, I'd go with Ripley's.

With either one, you win.

STTNG is a solid Ritchie title with great sound and layout.
RBION "" "" "" Lawlor "" "" "" "" and "".

I really like both games. I spent years hating STTNG but have grown to
understand it only in the past year or so. RBION, on the other hand, is
a game I am obsessed with. I've made peace with that so there is no
reason to flame of me for it :-). Whenever I get a new game I play if
for awhile and then always migrate back to the RBION. So, although both
are good games IMHO, I'd have to go with RBION. Ah, but then anyone who
knows me already knew I was going to say that.
Terry.

I was just up at your place to drop off Star Ship Troopers and should
have stayed longer and played your STTNG for awhile, didn't think of it
then. I think I'm going with Ripley's. Goonie wants me to get that one
anyway so he can play it.:)
