Just a heads up to Stern & owners that these are breaking off after
200+ plays. They break apart just above the base rivets, so far a left
& a center on the 2 AC/DC pro's that I bought.

Yop that is what I've been hearing. If someone what's to make a mint
make a repro or mod for tr lighting bolts instead of the topper. Your
going to have a lot of people looking for a
Solution to this problem.

What a shame, sounds like continuing quality control issues with new
Stern games. How Stern responds will determine if Stern has a
customer service/product warranty policy, IMO.

It's not a big deal, Stern has already fixed the problem. You will
receive a kit with all new lighting bolts. They have a steal backing,
issue fixed. I've already got mine. Call Chaz or Pat at Stern and they
will get yours right out.

Still a stern problem.
They would have noticed this when it was in test.
They are just lazy :(

The LEs came with the fix installed from the factory.

There will always be issues that go undetected...testing in the real
world will always uncover bugs that are hard to find in the "lab" (in
anything you own/bug).

I think it's great Stern fixed this so quickly...saying Stern is lazy
in this instance is bogus.

Nobody ever said Stern was lazy....just "cheap" (except on their
pricing).

There's no way I pushed that game hard enough to tilt

Old news.
Part #502-6799-00 upgrade lightning bolt plastics and metal backing.

Contact your Dist. or Stern support for your free upgrade kit. Early
Pros had this issue.
Problem was taken care of about 3+ weeks ago. All current games, Pro,
Premium and LE have the upgrade.

TRS Mick on a stick fix cost me $40! Hows that for standing behind
your product?

I think 50% of RGP KNEW that was going to happen once we saw the first picture of that plastic.

Yes in my opinion they are lazy, Good to collect extra cash for
machine tho.
TRS Mick on a stick
LOTR Awren Plastic - what a great flaw that was, and do not even
reproduce the plastic to replace the broken ones with ( Besides a
Complete set) :(
TF - Drop Target fix , another one needed extra plastics. But i guess
they missed this in testing also ?
AC/DC Lightening Plastics
I guess there maybe more but you get the idea.

On the other hand, Stern have made some good games too, but gees,
Admit it when you have stuffed up!

Now Take a Breath
Bitchin over and Out ;)

That's great to hear

I know there are a lot of people down on CS with Stern. I think this
is great that they recognized that problem and have come up with a fix
and are sending it out.

I liken it to computer software. I get notices for software updates
for some computer software that is 4 years old. They still find bugs
and things that need to be fixed. I know we all wish they would fix
everything all the time but I feel they are doing a pretty good job of
fixing the issues as they arise.

They will never make everyone happy. No one ever can. They can only
try.

More stern bitching.. why? They found an issue, fixed it, sending out
free fixes. For all of the above gripes except the arwen plastic that's
now 8 years old a fix was issued at no cost to the customer. Why is it
lazy? It cost them a hell of a lot more to fix the part and ship out new
ones for free than it would had they actually caught it in test. I
guess in some kind of bizarro world testing catches everything and
nothing ever goes wrong. Bet the recently hacked credit card companies
wish they were in that world after doing what they do for all these
years and STILL having flaws :) The boy scouts don't issue an 'I
bitched about Stern on rgp' merit badge i'm afraid.

That my friend is funny!

As long and there are steel balls in pinball machines, there will be
issues. Even the almighty Jersey Jack will have issues with his games.
Goes with the territory. B/W games had problems too.

Jason thanks for posting the part# for the upgrade kit and letting it
be known that a kit is available. My local arcade with an AC/DC Pro
already has all of them busted off of his game and I'm sending him the
info you have provided.

Thanks bro!

Chaz is great at Stern. Excellent customer support. Super nice guy
alert.

They sent me out new metal back bolts. Love this ACDC Pro!
