Subject: I'm up $3.00
Bought an old rusted Bally coin door at the pinfest in Allentown 2010
show. I really only bought it for the wire harness since mostly every
part is rusted. I started banging it around today as I was using it as
a referance for re-assmbling a coin door for my EBD resto. a quarter
fell out of it so I thought it was in the coin return. I pulled the
left side coin mech out. Then from moving it around, a total of 12
quarters were in the coin slot. The newest mintage was from 1982 and
it didn't show any wear. Those quarters were in there a loong time.
Cha Ching! :)

Since you went and reported your cash find here on an IRS accessible
public forum, I guess you now need to send in an amended 2010 federal
income tax return to report that $3.00.  With tax, interest and
penalties I guess you'll owe Uncle Sam about... oh.... $3.50.  The
cost of preparing and sending in that amended 1040 return will be an
additional expense... maybe $100 (depending upon whether or not you
have an accountant prepare that amended return).  When you add it all
up, you pretty much got F'ed when you bought that old Bally coin
door.  Next time you see the seller be sure to kick him in the
"nads"!  If the seller was a woman, well... don't kick her, just
mention to her that what she is wearing sorta makes her look fat.  ;-)

Does anybody have any Susan B Anthony dollar coins from the late 70's?
I jst want to see if my coin validator on the Meteor works. I know
nobody ever used those dumb ass coins when they were minted.

I have some.

Try your bank. Susan Bs are still valid currency, and they probably have
a bunch of them that nobody wants. Or use a Sacajawea. IIRC, they were
designed to be compatible with Susan B dollars so that any existing
coin mech that took Susan Bs should take Sacajaweas as well.

I bought a Bally slot about a dozen years ago. Ebay auction price was
$75.00 and the seller was pissed it did not go "to at least $500.00"
in his opinion. When I got it home and was taking it apart to repair,
I found a $25.00 token behind the power supply from Bally's Park Place
in Atlantic City. I also had to travel close to there for my job every
few months so I was able to redeem that token for ca$h. Made the
machine net price just $50.00
