He is truly the most rude person I have ever dealt with. Such a
gentleman before he received the money for the pin purchases.....
I will update
Todd
I will always think of him as George 'STFU' Riley (from one of his
previous Punked posts). Such a class act...
Steve (in Escalon, CA)
A while back he posted a ton of games on Mr. Pinball. I wonder if any
RGP members bothered to contact him.
So here are some of the lowlights gleaned from my trading emails with
Mr. Riley
He says he will only refund the money HE said he would refund if I
admit I lied and his version is 100 percent correct.
He referred to RGP members as "rgp idiots"
He will not give me permission to post his emails. This is the only
way I can prove "his side of the story" is false.
The fact is the descriptions of the pins he claimed to give me exist
only in his mind. I never received any of these descriptions. The only
one that comes close is the description of the Punk which I initially
got from his Mr. Pinball posting. Even then he changed the price from
$750 to $700. Also the backbox was NOT a Panthera but a Pink Panther.
Not really a big deal. Just very funny on many levels when you think
about it!
Also the date given for his descriptions Is a full week after he had
already received my payment for the Punk. What??
I never complained. Period. Since he is such an honest person let him
produce my email here on RGP showing that I complained. Oh that's
right. He can't because no such email exists.
When I originally spoke to GR on the phone he actually gave me up to a
year to make full payment for the pins and he said he would keep them
for me. I know this sounds like quite a generous offer, and it would
have been had he honered his word. I have an email from him supporting
this but of course I'm not allowed to produce it!
Apparently it is taboo the post someone else's private emails but how
about if I post my own. If the group oks it I would like to post the
email I sent him after he requested full payment.
There is more but I have to stop somewhere....
Todd
I would Post ALL of the emails since he's not telling the truth,,, I
mean what the hell is he going to do ?
Todd,
Thank you for having the conviction to stand by your principles, even
if it cost you the refund we alll agree you deserve. Maybe it's time
to post pictures of the Ship Ahoy.
Integrity is a funny thing, it's incredibly valuable but it's free.
Unfortunately, there are a few who don't care and are happy taking
advantage of the world. Perhaps is over-compensation for having a
small penis? Is that true George?
Steve (an RGP idiot in Escalon, CA)
Here is the thing...he doesn't have to give you permission to post
anything. He lost control over the emails the moment he pushed 'send'.
What is he going to do now? Sue you for screwing you out of the game
you purchased?
It's in bad taste to post private emails without letting all parties
know, but he doesn't want you to post them because it makes him look
bad. BFD. It's not like you are trying to salvage your christmas card
list. I think your transactions are complete, no?
Any deal, refund, etc in the works would be a reason for restraint. It
seems you might be past that.
Kirb
Why would you expect this thief to give you a refund?
He swapped the PF with the intent to screw you and he did and he "got
over".
Put him on the Mr. Pinball blacklist and be done with it.
Some people had lousy mothers and were not taught ethical behavior,
in his mind he did nothing wrong.
One day he will screw the wrong person and they will take a ball bat
to his sorry ass.
If you would have Googled this piece of human paraquat you would have
known better than to deal with him in the first place.
Eric
George has a Card Trix for sale(supposedly) and I go to Saratoga every
yeay. Too bad, I think I'd love the game.
First, let me begin by honoring Todd for his very strong ethical
convictions for not posting the emails sent to him by George Riley. I
think that he probably has the right to do that, especially since
George has done that with others emails here on RGP. This behavior on
Todd's part goes to the overall character of Todd and his dealings
with personal and professional relationships and transactions.
I have personally seen all the email exchanges between George and Todd
from the very beginning to the recent attempts on Todd's part to
civilly resolve the deal and on George's part to extort Todd to lie in
order to receive *ANY* kind of refund. Congratulations to Todd for
not "selling out" his principles. Having seen the messages, I can say
that they would not prove anything different than what has already
been provided here on RGP and subsequently verified by many, including
Steve Charland who has first hand, seen and carefully inspected the
Punk at Pin-A-Go-Go in May, 2010.
And now for yet another example of the crap that George misrepresented
and then unloaded on Todd as part of the four-pin purchase. I give you
"Ship Ahoy" which George describes as "Ship Ahoy is beautiful in all
respects." Here's a sampling of photos, but by no means
comprehensive, and not designed to single out the worst parts of the
pin (there are plenty of those". You be the judge:
Using my pin-powers for the purposes of good, not evil,
-"Jungle Queen" Steve
Maybe we could pass the hat for Todd. If we all pitch in a buck that
would come to at least $10. :) Kind of like collecting for a minor
league ball player that hits a home run...
Note, this isn't a comment to any party...
Games from GTB of that era (ship ahoy and bucaneer are the worst) have
major issues with inserts falling out. They all have to be reglued and
reset. Every one. Without that, they will all suffer the fate of the
photos.
All three SA or Buc games I had at one point had to be re-glued.
Anyone who shopped this game would know that if they shopped it
properly.
Kirb
Kirb is right about the loose inserts.
it's typical of a gottlieb of this era.
that said, this may be just a dispute of
condition descriptions. though i wouldn't
call that game "beautiful", i would call
it "typcial." And it's not that easy of a
game to find either. So one in any sort
of reasonable condition is rare.
http://bit.ly/shipahoy
what i'm trying to say is that if all
you look at all day long are 10 year
old DMD games, then yea, the Ships Ahoy
is trashed. But if you spend your days
playing 70s and 80s gottliebs, i would
call this game "pretty decent."
to boy any game, and i do mean ANY
game from this era and not expect some
insert wear, loose inserts, etc etc, is well,
unrealistic. I mean if you end up with no
insert wear than GREAT, you got a winner.
but this ships ahoy is pretty typical of the
games from this era. don't expect a new
game when you're buying a 30+ year old
machine.
this is why i don't ship games to people.
you come, you look, and if you buy, you
pay for it then and take it away yourself.
no excuses, no problems, no fights.
New policy, Clay? You've shipped games to me before (Arr0w Head, Cri$
$ Cro$$). And the inserts were loose! And the Gottlieb pf logo had
three "ttt"s! http://i46.tinypic.com/33z5mjr.jpg ; )
I suspect it may have been done in the Willliams factory. There were
some extra consonants floating around awhile back. I think they have
all been quarantined and only guaranteed clean stock is leaving the
factory now. I think the Willliams/Gotttlieb factory may be in
Australia, but every time somebody sends them money, all they seem to
receive in return is their name on a list. Odd.
