I added a couple of carriage bolts to the design as a way to lock the
rotisserie in place. Just bolted the flanges together.

You may need to make additional bolt down holes on the Stile supprts
for widebody playfields.
also forgot to factor in the cost of the clamps.
I like your concept and will probably utilize it for my pin workshop
area.

p.s. having a heat wave up here at the moment.
Got up to + 36'F today, when last week it was -36'F below.
Also saw the first sunrise of the new year, albeit a partial one.
Just seems like a shame to waste $27.00 like that on a luxury item
that you *could* get by without. ;-)

Funny you mention that because I went around my gameroom this morning
measuring the width and length of each playfield. I then drilled
additional holes in the top of the workbench so that I could adjust
the rig to accommodate the most common lengths / widths.

I don't have any kids, but just out of curiosity I checked to see what
it would cost to adopt / feed / clothe / educate / bail out of jail /
send through rehab a couple of kids and the combined total was
something more than $40... so I'm still happy with my decision. ;-)

The way our two are acting today, you can HAVE them. I'll even pay
shipping.

Not bad for an all out inexpensive option. The main thing I like
better about a table top version like the one I just posted is that
you can pile junk under and around the playfield rotisserie. Your
design's major drawback is that it blocks access to your workbench.

I built my rotisserie today. I wanted to utilize a utility table I
had so I build two independent sleds that wrap around the table
overhang to add stability. I used Ed Cheung's universal joint design
and that worked great. I beleive the total cost of everything was
around $50.00. It seems stable and does what I want - it took me
about two hours to build.

But Rick, how does yours "rotisserize" without a junction?
You aren't relying on those pipe threads to turn without coming
completely out, are you?
I'd hate to see any "odd" accidents occur at your house... :-)
BTW, looking forward to chatting it up with you at the TPF!

To flip the playfield over is just half a turn. It loosens one side
half a turn and tightens the other side half a turn. You just gotta
make sure that you always flip "up" to get to the underside and you
always flip "down" to get to the topside. The way I've got it set,
when you have the underside facing up you are at the end of the
travel. However, I may put a little "check chain" on the rig to make
sure that all rotations are always in the proper direction.

LOL! No, not unless "def" is shorthand for "defecate". Because many

Well, I *can* get to both sides of the playfield while in my
rotisserie. Hello... it's a ro-tiss-er-ie... it turns so that you can
access both sides. ;-) As far a taking up bench space... it really
doesn't take up much bench space. I can set my DMM, soldering iron,
desoldering iron and work light on the bench while working, so the
proximity to the bench actually comes in pretty handy.

Just remembered... "I-94" was my first wife's nickname. Man, you had
terrible taste in women when you were in college. But at least I now
know who "Dinky Kelly" is... she was always chuckling about "Dinky
Kelley". Something about being equipped with a "short stemmed
mushroom cap". ;-)
