Which Cabinet Leg Protector to use on LOTR LE?

OK - at 1st I ordered the Gold/Yellow Pincab Protectors from
Pinballfanatic.

Then I read mixed reviews that they will cause cabinet problems also
(not sure if that is true) - most say no - some say yes.

So I order the Protectors from Pinball Pal along with other items.

My order came in today and instead of the whole set of protectors -
they just sent flipper protectors.
(I am sure it was a mistake - I E-mailed to resolve that issue)

So now my LOTR LE is arriving tomorrow thus the problem.

Should I use the Pincabs? Should I wait for the PinballPal ones?
Should I just bolt on the legs with no protector?

Please share your thoughts.

Use felt protectors on a game that doesn't have any damage.

The man speaks sense. I always use felt on Stern's anyway as the cabs
are printed not decaled (so no chance of wrinkling), plus the plastic
protectors reduce how much of the bolt is able to be threaded in

Anyone have a good template that I can download to cut some out? If
not - I guess I can make one - just wanted to check first.

I went and bought regular felt - couldn't find the thick stuff
locally. Also bought sheets of the Neoprene Foam. Was planning to cut
a set from each - put the felt toward the cabinet and the Neoprene
Foam toward the leg.

Or I could Double over the felt, but I think the combo of the two is
going to work well.

I've had Pin cabs on all of my pins for years, some with decals and
others without. Never seen an issue. I put them on a NIB Spiderman
over 2 years ago and no problem.

I had my MB redecaled and the Pincabs caused them to wrinkle. I
didn't have any problem with them when I had a TSPP, so I thought they
would be fine for the MB. Felt is might be safer.

I think Chris Hutchins uses pinballpal protectors. I think he applies
them straight to the machine and not the legs. I could be wrong on
exactly what he uses, but I do know the protector is on the machine
and not the legs. With the legs on, it is virtually undetectable.

I didn't redecal my cab, I had them done by the person I purchased the
machine from. I don't know if they were applied wet or dry, or what
company made the decal, or how the person applied them. So you are
probably right, and I apologize for stating the Pincabs did it as it
could have been one or a combination of the factors mentioned.

The Pincabs did a good job on other pins that I have owned.
