Hey guys,
So I received the package with the ramps from the manufacturer last
week. Unfortunately, I got called away on business, and haven't been
able to really spend any time on them until today.

I cleaned them up as best I could, and took some pictures. If all goes
well, I will stop at the post office tomorrow to grab some flat rate
boxes, and have them shipped out the next day (Thursday).

If you have ordered ramps, and haven't emailed me an updated address
yet, please do. Even if the address hasn't changed since you ordered,
please email me an address anyways, this way I know we are on the same
page.

Here are a couple quick pics:
https://picasaweb.google.com/108385051550613111866/GenesisRampsFinal#

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for all of the delays in
this project. If I had my way, this would have been done in February,
or March at the latest. As some of you may know, there were some issues
with my manufacturer that caused repeated delays. I will most likely
never tackle a project like this again. There are so many unforseen
pitfalls, and issues. My hat is off to everyone in the hobby who does
reproductions, you guys work SO HARD!

Again, if you ordered ramps, please email me at lapean111 at gmail.com
with your current address.

Thanks again!

This saga sounded like an absolute pain-in-the-ass. Way to see it
through, man. Hopefully people will love them and appreciate the fact
that they'll never see repro ramps for this title ever again.

There was one on eBay for like $200 recently. I laughed hard at it.

So... where are mine? No ramps. No replies to repeated emails. I was
one of the few people who were supportive throughout all of the delays
and BS and this is how I get repaid? I've been patient up to this
point but it's enough already.

Remind me why I give so much of my time to helping people in this
hobby?

Because it's not about the one person, or the trolls, or the folks
that barge in here, ask a question, have it answered, and are never
heard from again.

It's about all the good pinball folks that inhabit these parts.

That's why... :-)

You're right. I let my frustration get the best of me.

The good definitely outweighs the bad or I wouldn't do it :)

Its a crappy situation at best. I hope you get some restitution soon.

This whole project failed on so many levels.

Don't worry,You will recieve them....they will be just as poorly made
as the first run...if not worse...I gave up even trying to resolve
this fiasco....
The good news is 99% of the time mods and repro projects offered up on
the group by individual people turn out to be terrific! This just
wasn't one of them.

I was also supportive of Tim having to deal with a flake, now it
appears I have had the piss taken out of me.
Despite many promises of ramps or money being returned, "tracking
number being sent Monday" etc I still have nothing. He is now blocking
my calls too, class.
I also know someone else just got their situation resolved after I
helped them to contact Tim, so what am I, chopped liver ?
So, webfart/ Tim as you should be able to understand, I am severely
miffed and just want my money back.

Everyone else, sorry to wash dirty laundery in public.

I am about to try my hand at reproducing these ramps for my Genesis
machine restore, I have a successful cast mold of the right ramp and
now working on the left. Afterwards I will complete the vacuum molding
with PETG plastic. I will let you guys know how it comes out. So far I
have been 100% successful in 1st attempt projects including clear
coating my playfield.

I must have been one of the lucky few. I emailed him, and had my ramps
within the week. Given he already had them on hand. Seemed like a nice
enough guy and returned my emails promptly.

You certainly are one of the few lucky ones. I originally wanted in on
these ramps but my instincts told me to hold off until I could see
progress. So I ended up being in the email loop for the progress, then
delays, then the pissed off customer emails, then the apology emails,
then the even more pissed off emails, then even more apology emails,
then legal action and I-want-my-money-back emails, etc. The email
chain finally fizzled out not too long ago. It wasnt a pleasant thing
to keep track of. People are downright petty when it comes to a few
bucks. Sad really. I could tell the guy really wanted this to work out
for Genesis users. Instead it turned into one giant nightmare for the
poor dude. I learned one lesson out of this. NEVER offer that kind of
service here on rgp. Its absolutely not worth the trouble. Its been
proven time and time again and theres nothing to indicate that'll
change.

Guess I cannot reply to an old thread, but unfortunately I should have
taken more notice back then.

"Giant nightmare for the poor dude"
Yes indeed it has but he has also contributed to the difficulty's
involved. A lack of communication tends to really annoy people, but
ripping them off is outright wrong. I may be the only one left without
ramps or my money back now unless anyone else shows up.
Anyway, he has now blocked my calls, does not respond to any messages
at all, so I guess I was the lucky one to take it for the team.

Since you obviously have time to reply why don't you comment on why
you aren't refunding or providing ramps for these people? It would be
extremely easy to set these people straight and put this situation
behind everyone.

Sorry to hear guys. I've been jerked around by sellers before, but never
to this extent. I find it interesting that he had the ramps handy to
sell me, yet he still ower buyers ramps that had already paid months
before i came along!! And to add insult to injury, sold me ramps that
one of you had likely already paid for and never received!

Had i read up and followed this email chain, i likely would of never
contacted him in the first place. And certainly would of alerted you
guys that he was shipping ramps eventhough he's telling you he has none,
or isn't returning emails all together! My OEM ramps aren't that bad, i
could of lived with them.

Like I have said before, I wish I had never attempted to undertake this.
It was really one misunderstanding after another, followed by a
manufacturer who was unreachable, and unreliable. I did my best to get
everyone who wanted them ramps, and to refund money when I couldn't get
them out. Quatrohead was the last person I had to settle up with, and I
did that. I apologize for the delay, but this isn't my full time job.

If people don't want to deal with me anymore, so be it. I can say that
I will never be doing another "repro" project.

Again, my apologies to everyone who was involved in this.

The thing is Tim, fuck ups happen. Shit goes wrong, people are
arseholes. This is life. We are all going to get fucked over at some
time.
HOWEVER, communication is all most people require. Being ignored
whilst others were being contacted and situations resolved really
pissed me off, hence the active posting of your lack of reliability on
my part.
I have a life, I don't want to bother some unknown person on the net,
I just wanted a resolution to my problem.

I appreciate the understanding, and have taken this whole thing is a
life lesson. Pinball is a fun hobby, but I don't have the time, or
skills to undertake reproduction projects.

Again, my apologies to everyone who didn't get their ramps that wanted
them, and to everyone else on RGP who had to hear about it.
