I was buying some pins from a big operator the other day and he had
all his pin2000's in the shop and had installed 19 inch lcds into
them... I have to admit it looks great and made the machine nice and
light LOL
now what to do with all that extra room in the head...

just wondering if anyone else has seen this done..

Too bad LCD is a "garbage TV". No parts available, all obsolete
whithin 1 yr. If you're lucky in a couple years they can be repaired
by replacing several of the Chinese capacitors in the power supply. I
was working on a 2005 Akai LCD today that had 14 bulged capacitors
already on the power supply board and this is just a HUO TV. Board
itself NLA of course. So put in the LCD, it will work great, but don't
expect much life, a couple yrs at best. The great thing is in a couple
yrs LCD will probably all be obsolete and we'll have a greater
"garbage TV" yet!

I love my LCD/TFT and would never return to lugging around a CRT when
I want to move it ;)

The best thing about using the LCD is the contrast ratio compared to
the original cga crt. It really looks incredible. As you said ;-)

i'm looking forward to seeing how this looks. A LCD monitor would
have better rez than an arcade monitor. The only thing that I worry
about, is the flat screen reflecting off the glass, won't line things
up correctly. The p2k setup is designed for the natural curve of the
monitor. We will see.

If someone would please post the details of doing this conversion from
CRT to LCD in terms of mounting and connections and specific model of
19" LCD utilized, that would be greatly appreciated by the pinball
2000 community I'm sure. I haven't bumped into that information
anywhere. Thanks!
