DE Star Wars Issues

I just bought a DE Star Wars pin. Pin appears to be in nice shape
though has a number of broken/cracked plastics. The problem is ever
since I got it home the balls jam up behind the flippers and are not
delivered to the plunger. I have to take the glass off or pop them
over manually from underneath. Any thoughts on this? The seller said
this only happened occasionally and for me it is every other game.

The left flipper is also sticking up. Brand new to pinball ownership
so any help appreciated. Thanks.

Check the kicker and switch where the balls leave the playfield. Something
isn't working.

Flipper sticking, check for worn plunger ( mushroomed on the end ) dragging
in the coil first. If it is, file it smooth and conside rebuilding flippers
soon. New plunger assembly, new coil sleeve, new coil stop. LTG :)

either the trough switches aren't registering the pinball's entering,
or the kicker coil isn't firing once it's registered.. check the
diagnostics 'switch test' to first see if the game recognizes the
pinball entering the trough.. also check that each of the 4 ball
switches register (lift the playfield and hit them one-by-one with
your finger). if those work, then go into the solenoid/coil test to
see if both the kicker, and the ball delivery coil (the one that kicks
from the trough into the launch lane) are firing.. one of those most
likely is the problem.. may have a shorted wire in any of those..

the flipper may just need a new spring...

if you diagnose the problems, i'll help you in repairing them best i
can..

Thanks to both of you for the advice. I haven't worked on a pin
before so a total novice. I'll see if I can figure it out based on
your input. I may check back with you if I hit a wall. Thanks

Could be divots in the ball trough as well, over time divots can form
where the balls sit in the ball trough and prevents the balls from
rollling smoothly down to the kicker assembly. If there are divots
they can usually be filed smoot with a small metal file. Also the
kicker that kicks the ball out, check to make sure the mechanism is
straight and tight. There are screws holding the coil and assembly
together and they can loosen up over time causing sporadic function
and clogs in the ball trough.

The gentleman I bought it from said it worked fine prior to the move,
so perhaps the move jostled the screws. I will check this for sure,
thanks!

I looked at it again last night and it seems like the kicker lever
might be loose. Is that a possibility?

If there seems to be anything loose in the kicker assembly go in there
and check any screws you can see and see if any are loose.
Make sure the kicker that contacts the ball is aligned properly with
the hole and snug up any screws in the assembly.
Sometimes this can make the difference and get things working
smoothly. This kicker works fast especially in multiball so it needs
to be straight and snug. Also make sure the plunger moves freely and
that nothing is binding when you manually move the plunger in and out.
If it does you may need a new plunger and sleeve or just maybe a new
sleeve...

What seems to be happening is the kicker is loose. If the balls get
stuck, I can reach under and pull the kicker down a bit and the thing
works. Almost like the kicker's resting position is too high in the
slot.

One other question...with all of the broken plastics, any
recommendations for where to find replacements? I see
macrospecialties carries them...not sure if there are other dealers
out there. Thanks.
