I suck!

I played LOTR on location a couple of time and I liked it, so I picked
up a LE LOTR. I finally received it and have been playing over the
last 3 days. Great game, just one problem...it is kicking my ass!
I've read posts on here where people complain of long ball times, etc,
but I haven't had that "problem". I think my max score to date is
just over $30M. Any other LOTR newbies find the game challenging?

That just means you will enjoy the game for a looooong time. If it
were easy you would get bored of it. You will get the hang of it.

I have had mine for 9 months and I still suck.

I'd be kind of pissed if I dropped that kind of cash and the game WASN'T
challenging.

Hang in there. It gets a lot better once you get an understanding of
the rule set.

If you still suck in a year it might be a keeper. I love games that
take forever to get anywhere with. You have the 5 stages of pinball
"grief"

1) close the outlane
2) consider going to 5 balls
3) set an extra ball at the replay score
4) want to sell the game
5) acceptance that the game rocks

I think if you resist playing 4 games at once or going to 5 ball, you
will make it

I have had mine nearly two years now and have only made it to
126M...thanks to the many multiballs. If I follow the mindset that if
I suck after a year then a game should be considered a keeper then I
guess I will have many of my machines for a long time =). To answer
the OPs question, yeah...I suck too...but I'm having fun at it! I wish
I could remember who it was that told me that if I buy one PB machine
that I had better make room for another...and another...

Thanks for the encourangement everyone. After a week I still have
trouble getting beyond 25M, but I did finally have one great game
where I got 88M and destroyed the ring (what an awesome display)!
Game plays great and you definitely have to be accurate with the
shots. I may still entertain closing up the outlanes to the mid
setting only because it seems that the game drains a lot just from
bouncing back and forth from the slings.
