OT: Value of a Seeburg Jukebox

I know this is off track, but a friend asked for a little help in
figuring out the value of a Seeburg Jukebox and there are folks here
who seem to know everything coin-op.. I was sent a couple of
pictures, and it looks like it is in real nice shape and I believe
that it is working fine. They also sent a picture of the metal plate
on the back with the serial number and model number. The model number
is a VL 200 D and the front of the machine reads "Selectomatic" and
"Two Hundred Selection". Any help folks here can offer in estimating
a likely selling price or range would be greatly appreciated.

The V/VL series are quite desirable *if* the original rotating title
drum and associated switches, etc., are included, and if the chrome
plating on the front parts of the machine is in good condition. The
title drum could be problematic in the field, and it was not unusual
for operators to chop off the top of the machine and discard the title
drum. Without actually seeing it I'd say around $2500 is not
unreasonable, assuming the title drum is present.

With a machine that has undergone restoration to a Grade 1 condition,
I have encountered several in the $8,000-$10,000+ range - no kidding.
That rotating carousel and title boards and the 'big move up' to a 200-
selection from the 100-selection machines, made this the cat's ass at
the time.

The VL200 family is THE Cadillac of the old Silver Era Seeburgs -
right up the with the 100Cs, the HF100Rs, and others.
It's a keeper, no doubt about it, and have him contact a good restorer
- to either restore it correctly, OR to give him what it's truly
worth.

There is a huge price differance between a non-working Jukebox,
and a restored fully working Jukebox, People see High prices on
working restored Jukes,
everyone thinks the old juke box thats been sitting for 30 years is a
gold Mine, its Not.
unless you find someone with knowledge and time to get it working
reliably.

It is located in Phoenix, AZ and my friend says that it is in good
condition, full of 45's with an extra box as well. He says that he
has pictures of every part. It sounds like it was in storage from
an estate. The picture I got looks real nice, but I know little about
jukeboxes. I do not know if he means an extra box or if he means a
wall box, I will check and see. I will also ask him if he wants me to
give out his email, so I am not in the middle of any potential
discussion/negotiations.

Jukebox values have tanked over the last few years that model is one
of a few that has held its value better than others. Its probably
worth 1/3 less than what it was bringing 10 years ago. American
jukeboxes are really hot in Europe, the 50's Americana is still trendy
there. There are a few guys in the google jukebox group from Europe
that will give you a pretty good price for it if you want to resell
it.

I'm just reading this & I also came across a old Seaburg 200 J , that
I think looks pretty cool with the Mech up top ,, Any idea's on this
one ?

I received this email from the owner of the jukebox.

"My name is Alex Burton and I am Jan's son in law. Jan forwarded the
links to the forum and I tried to post a comment but it would not let

yes it works great, chrome is in great shape, it has the title drum
and it works, just don't have any labels to put in it."
