Emailed him to ask him whats up with MM and asking why so harsh on the
sueing issue. Here is what i got in return.

We have sued heaps of people but they shit themselves and settle
before court the weak pricks they are. Thats fine as they pay all our
legal fees and costs + Damages, they sign non disclosures thats why
you never hear about it. I have more money than you ever will my poor
Buddy. I control your little hobby, If i need more money i will just
increase my prices again. Wayne Gillard

Just yesterday I received a non-licensed part in the mail. What's it for?
Oh, I dunno, let's just say it's for MY WALL. That it also happens to fit

Korn very well said!
if you all want to put a strain on wayne, just
don't buy his stuff. Shop at Pinball Resouce
(who sell little to none of wayne's products).
Avoid shops that do sell a lot of kangaroo stuff

I once emailed this "business" person in regards to a playfield he had
listed on ebay. I simply wanted to know if it was an original or a
reproduction. Here was his responses....

"Mate I spent over a Million dolars buying the rights from Williams.
do you think i am going to risk selling a whitewood playfield that is
not original.
Please dont bid you guys are so anal

When I responded that I thought his response was unprofessional
considering all I wanted to know was if the playfield was original or
not he sends this one...

"jealous I control your hobby
we also bought 78 patents which cosy 2-4k each to renew, plus
engineering inventory as well as artwork, you have no idea what we
paid,
The playfield is what it is.
I dont care what you buy from me, without our parts you may as well
sell your games.
Take care

When I responded, never mind I didn't care to do business with such a
person I got this response....

"who gives a fuck mate
I am a millionaire and own the bally Williams pinball rights, so i
might just feel like a price increase on all our parts.

- pinball-sales"

My last response to him was to explain that his price increases would
not effect me and I didn't care to buy his .99 parts that he marks up
500% this was his response....

"yes we paid .99c for items selling for $500, we sell a lot of
products, we are the largest pinball parts Manufacturer in the World,
with Distributors in 30 countries, we own the Bally Williams IP and 78

Says the guy who posts negative, unverified news on UKPinball before
Christmas about Stern (the only *real* coinop pinball manufacturer),
like talking about Ray Tanzer quiting, trying so hard to get someone
else to re-post it to RGP during Steve's posting frenzy. Not to
mention all the talk about you trying to buy Stern :) :)

Says the guy who agrees to Sponsor the UKPinball show and then dumps
on it after all the free publicity, flyers and show advertising had
been printed and distributed.

Says the guy who spent 3years making inserts, at least thats what most
of the *development* photos show.

No one mentioned nucore but seeing as you did, I for one will be
pleased to see it marketed, hopefully with the hologram of
authenticity "Genuine NOT TPF endorced product". Maybe even a cool

Wayne Gillard certainly knows how to burn the bridges down with people
that want to help out with pinball products. After all the threatening
emails from himself or the sales@ about any pinball projects i am
working on. Here is his comments:
http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_thread/thread/767fe2b108c5a04e/14d73c3f8e8a59d0#14d73c3f8e8a59d0

You kick to many people down with your threats, who if you took a more
positive approach might of been there to help you out. You probably
could of been finished building some new pins if you weren't so busy
threatening people. Many different sources could of been ready to
provide the parts for production. But I guess time will tell if we
ever see a pinball factory in Australia.

>ever see a pinball factory in Australia.

Your last question has already been answered by the man himself. Yes,
absolutely, we will see a pinball factory in Australia. In fact, it already
exists. It didn't begin when Wayne incorporated under a name that implied he was
a pinball factory, it began when he started taking orders and money on said
product. When the first person sent him a deposit under the promise they would
receive a pinball machine in exchange, like it or not, Wayne became a bonified
pinball machine manufacturer.

Of course, time will tell whether he is remembered as a successful pinball
machine manufacturer or not... :-)

There is a legitimate reason why people aren't hounding Herb or any of the other
people that have boasted they would build and sell complete games. Because those
other guys are doing it the right way, they are building their product and when
it's done they will sell it. Wayne bought the rights, posted a flyer picture on
his web site of something that someone else built 10 years earlier and started
taking money. Hence the formation of an active fan club in his behalf.

Actually, no... it is indeed wayne's google profile, meaning it was

Anyone knowingly put TPF products in their machines want to justify

How far are people willing to go?

How about an honest head count of those with TPF products in their

How about all those AFM playfields?

i have ZERO kangaroo parts in my games.
I do have a canadian BK playfield, but it's a mere

How do i do this? I buy from Pinball Resource!
It's really that simple. If you get it from Steve,
there's a 99.999% chance it did not come thru
wayno. And if you try and buy a part from steve
that is kangaroo based, he will tell you before you
buy it.

It's not hard to avoid wayne. you just gotta be

Heh, heh, heh. I guess we need a moderator to verify the ISP of the

AFM? My AFM is gorgeous. Instead of decals I touched up a pretty nice
original cabinet, had a playfield restored by HEP, paid extra for NOS
plastics and original jiggly martians, found a very nice used lobster
ramp and bought weldments from Kerry Stair.

The down under dolt hasn't received one cent from me. It's possible
that some of the pins I've bought have had his parts but I don't think
so. I also haven't bought from the biggest pusher of TPF parts in CA
for a few years largely because of dufus.

Instead, I restore, pay extra for NOS, wait until something useful
used comes available, make my own, find an underground repro, or do
without. Pinball isn't worth dealing with him and I'm doing my part to
defund the dolt.

I commend you guys on sticking to your guns but
must say that I am sure there are those that haven't.

I for one have never had a horse in the TPF race nor have
seen the energy spent on it to be very beneficial.

Don't CPR and other repro companies have to pay a price for doing
certain Bally/Williams titles?
Do any of these companies do business with TPF?

I haven't knowingly bought any products from, or licensed through WayNo.
This may change if a playfield comes along from one of his "partners" that I
can't resist.

Still, even if one has bought from him it does not preclude one from
detecting that he is on the evolutionary level of pond scum (apparently
swimming alongside Gary Stern if certain accusations are to be believed...),
and on an ethical level all to his own. How low can you go?!?

Not if you are digging a little. Larry remarked about checking the profile

Ahh, but a check of the properties for metallik's post shows the IP address
of 72.49.51.92... Your test post shows as 69.71.160.15... Fuse.net vs.
Visionary Communications for providers. Checking the history of posts for
someone who has done more than a few posts would show the discrepancy. :-)

P.S.
With a linux-based box you could even fake that IP address. :-)

Not necessarily. To be a bonafide pinball machine manufacturer you actually
have to build the product. After three years I'd be saying "bonafide con
artist" or "thief", depending upon one's point of view. Mahoff for the win.

Even government contractors can at least deliver rnment a nice fireball and
box of charred parts at some point in time and simply say, "Whoops, didn't
work!"

Actually, no. Wayne's post also contains this information:

NNTP-Posting-Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2009 06:41:19 +0000 (UTC)
Complaints-To: groups...@google.com
Injection-Info: z27g2000prd.googlegroups.com; posting-
host=60.230.104.51;
posting-account=mkvAZQkAAADZ4H0az4jayUBGozktHSjP

That last bit is Google's own information, used to uniquely identify
its own posters. A post from a newsreader would list a different
server and not contain Wayne's account ID.

You faked the wrong profile - that one is my standard newsreader
account, not a Google account. You CAN fool google into showing
someone else's profile with the link, but I don't think you can fake
another google account

but the question is, do most people even know how to properly read

Consider also the fact that IPs change quite often with some ISPs. With
Comcast, mine changes about 6 times a year. When I had AT&T DSL, it
changed 4 times a month. So just following the IP address doesn't
necessarily help.

Even if the poster had a static IP at work, he could be posting from
home, or a laptop at the coffee shop.

But one can trace the ip to a location (Australia). In any case, all

Actually, I was wrong.. it looks like it did indeed fake the google

show it was you). Shame on Google for not controlling this. So,
check those headers :)

I know that this is a fairly old thread, but I am curious. I have not kept
up with the business and political end of pinball very well. There are only
bits and pieces on the web. To help those of us who have not, could you
please bring us up to date?

As far as I can tell:

Williams sold the parts / reproduction business to Illinois Pinball Company.

Williams then sold the rights to make the Williams games to Wayne Gillard
who started The Pinball Factory in Australia.

Stern is not too happy as they figure they will lose business if TPF starts
making pins.

TPF has made nothing, but has taken deposits on MM pins.

There are a lot of people who do not like Wayne Gillard. More info would be
appreciated.

Lots of lawsuits by who against who?

I am guessing that making repro parts for Williams games is now running
afoul of those two companies that have purchased the rights.

Any more useful information or links?

Thanks.

BTW, if the below email is authentic, I am amazed. I have a hard time
believing that anyone could be so stupid to put something like this in
print.
