Play Pinball at SFO for Free Jan 4-15!

the International Terminal right now and for the next 5 months. The
exhibit, which is presented in conjunction with the Pacific Pinball
Museum (PPM) and the Silverball Ranch, includes examples of machines
from 1887 to TZ. These games are behind glass, but as a special event
from January 4th to 15th, the PPM will have 8 EM machines set up for
free play from 10 am to 4 pm. Note that the exhibit is on the "land
side" (before security - between the 2 food courts) of the terminal so
anyone can visit and play!

Also note that SFO Museums also has a superb slot machine exhibit in
the United Terminal (after security), so SFO is coin-op paradise right
now!
If 8 games are not enough, come to the new Pacific Pinball Museum/
Lucky Ju Ju in Alameda. We have expanded and now hold 80 playable
games from the 1930's to 2009. More info at www.PacificPinball.org or

Apollo '67 Williams
High Hand '73 Gottlieb
Flying High '53 Gottlieb
Bowling Queen '64 Gottlieb
Mini Pool '69 Gottlieb
Universe '59 Gottlieb
I am reserving the right to swap out one Gottlieb machine with a
Bally....
You can take BART directly to SFO, have a great $12 lunch at the
Fireside, check out the exhibit, play some free pinball, and make a
generous donation to the PPM to help keep pinball alive and support
our museum!
We (PPM and SFAM staff) will be there to answer questions and free any
stuck balls. If you are a real fan, fly in from wherever you are, take
the air train to the International Terminal, check out the exhibit,
play some pinball, go to the Musee Mechanique at Fisherman's Wharf,
eat some fresh crab, go to the PPM/Ju Ju for more pinball and fly back
home in time for breakfast. They probably won't even know you're gone.

If your at the SF airport, the slot machine exhibit is worth budgeting
at least another 30 minutes
just to check out the intricate detailing and vast collection of
slots. The signage is informative
and engaging, with a great collection of punchboard images (thanks AL,
CARGPB 331/3, for helping me
find my first punchboard, you are forever in my heart).
Backed with with a pinball exhibit, the other coin-op bad boy with a
sledgehammer past, this almost makes
getting on an airplane with all the snow delays worth while.
Mike - if you let Larry Z (who has a tattoo "In Gottlieb we Trust")
select the airport pinball lineup, did you
not expect an all Gottlieb lineup? \-) My vote for a Bally would be 4
million BC to play since Fireball is
on its rightful pedestal in the exhibit. Let us not discriminate and
put in the William's Kordec classic,
Pot "O" Gold, with a bagatelle in the backbox. Both I would love to
have in my collection, but alas,
Santa Claus did not give me any more space.

Thanks for posting this for the general public, Dan. For those of you
who've not been to the San Francisco International Airport terminal in
a while, this exhibit of pins is worth the trip!
I'd like to be able to have more than 8 playable games set up and
running, and for more than just two weeks, but it's a good start for
now.
Of course, the 36 games behind the glass display case will be
installed until April, so that alone is worth a visit, and is quite
convenient by BART, too!
Let us know how you liked it, and yeah, come on out to the Pacific
Pinball Museum in Alameda, too!

Come on Mike.. I think you need one more Gottlieb out there... say a
King Pin.. ;)

Dave,
I know the Kingpin would be nice to have there but why let Larry have
all the fun? Also, since I've never gotten to play a regular Kingpin,
(Wade Krause and Dirty Donnie's Hellacopter's is the only version to
visit the Ju Ju) then I thought it would be cool to have the one you
restored at the PPM. I will certainly take you up on your offer to
help. Hope to see you on New Years Eve!
