Ilkor is FREE to play & provides a fresh twist on Classic Old School
D&D Style Fantasy RPG gaming via the browser. It is turn-based and
set in the fantasy world of Arcadia.

Currently the game is still being developed, however we are actively
looking for playtesters to signup. If you are at all interested go to
the website (http://ilkor.com) and check out the game details and go
ahead and sign-up. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I've listed below some of the Game Details:

Ilkor: Dark Rising is set in Arcadia, a world of dragons, magic and
high adventure. It is a vast untamed world divided into 5 major
regions.
Rumour has it, Ilkor, the Goddess of Darkness is regaining her power
and planning to resurface, after being banished from Arcadia for many
an age.
On Caledon, the blue region, brave adventurers are being summoned by
Icesi, the father of the heavens to stand up for what they believe in,
now is the time to make your mark and help shape the future of
Arcadia.
This is YOUR chance to join the ranks of the mighty heroes of old.
Have you got what it takes? Do you take the path of good or evil? What
is your fate?

Play for FREE. Never pay...EVER
-------------------------------
It will always be free to play Ilkor.
There are no hidden costs, adverts, spamming or reselling your
personal information of any kind.

A Text RPG Browser Game with a difference!
------------------------------------------
Ilkor can be best described as a cross between a classic RPG and board
game.
It is Turn-based, running on a weekly cycle. Players are required to
be online only 3 times a week for 10 minutes.
Advancement in the game cannot be bought nor is success gained by
repeating brain-numbing actions throughout the day.

Beta Playtest
-------------
Ilkor is still being designed and developed. In the meantime we are
looking for worthy, wannabe adventurers to signup NOW.
We are limiting the playtest positions, so hurry up, get your friends
involved and together you can become an active member of the Ilkor
community.
In the coming months you will be kept abreast with the latest
developments.
You will be invited to take part in 'Knowledge Quests', preparing you
for the exciting but dangerous world of Arcadia.
We will also be requesting help from you with our Alpha Testing that
should commence sometime in the New Year.

Introducing Lord Vega & Orco
----------------------------
Lord Vega is a famous 10th Level Fighter that has been assigned by
Icesi as Master Guide of Arcadia.

He is here to help all beginning Adventurers. Do not be afraid to send
Lord Vega a message at ve...@ilkor.com.
Orco on the other hand works for Ilkor as her Chief Messenger and you
will receive important messages from him throughout your adventuring
career, so look out for them.

Orco doesn't like to be contacted, his email address is
or...@ilkor.com.

Old School Rules...RULE OK?
---------------------------
Game mechanics have been drawn from old school table-top RPGs such as
D&D (red box), Merp and T&T.
All are classic games in their own right, a time of simpler rules
where the focus was on having fun. Ilkor's game engine has been
heavily influenced by the d20 System, especially Microlite 20.
The Forum & Message System
None of your personal details (player name, email address, etc) will
ever be made available to other players.
Both the game forum and the internal messaging system are the main
forms of communication between players and GameMasters.

Character Races & Classes
-------------------------
There are just 4 races & 4 'bases' classes to choose from, providing
only the truly 'classic' character combinations of old.
Players can choose between Human, Dwarf, Elf or Halfling races.
Fighter, Wizard, Priest and Rogue are the 'base' classes.
Each 'base' class branch out into 3 unique specialist classes upon
your adventurer reaching level 5.
Each race has a 'Prime Class'. This is the class that is typically the
best match for that race.

Strongholds, Specialist Classes & Companions
--------------------------------------------
Key game features are unlocked upon reaching specific levels.
Level 5 introduces the Specialist Class of which each 'base' Class has
three to choose from.
At Level 10 an adventurer is awarded a stronghold. There are many
different types and vary based on class.
Adventurers receive an animal companion upon reaching 15th Level. The
adventurer's class determines the animal type.

Power Packs
-----------
Items and information that your adventurer encounters in his travels
will be presented to you in the form of 'Power Pack Cards'.
There will be various packs for weapons, armour, spells, monsters,
etc.
These packs will grow in size as you amass more knowledge through
encounter, possession and research.
Each card holds information on one item. There are 3 knowledge levels
that can be obtained.

Beautifully Hand Drawn Maps
---------------------------
Tolkien style maps, hand drawn by the amazing Jon Roberts depicting
the immense detail of this fantastic game setting.

Community Driven
----------------
Help shape Ilkor through YOUR involvement in the playtest, suggesting
improvements & contributing to the rich background.
You can even become a 'Player Guide' or transcend into a GameMaster
role if you so desire!

Caledon Region opens first
--------------------------
Caledon (Blue region), Arcadia's central continent will open first for
adventurers. It is in this region that all adventurers start out.
It is a vast land mass, consisting of approximately 170,000 locations
and nearly 50 villages, towns and cities.
It is well populated and relatively 'safe' when compared to the
surrounding four 'wild' regions.
There are still plenty of unexplored and untamed areas just waiting
for a brave adventurer like yourself.

Character Class Levels
----------------------
There are 15 known Levels. Advancement is slow, expect to take 5 years
to reach 15th Level.
Experience Points (XP) are earned each turn based on the success of
actions performed.
'Level Up' is a process that happens upon reaching the next level.
Adventurers are given various points and bonuses to distribute amongst
stats and skills.
Each new level opens up more exciting game play.
Fame & Experience Points
These are the two main measurements of success.
Experience Points (XP) are earned based on the success of actions
performed.
Fame Points are awarded based on deeds considered worthy of an entry
into history (news, story, legend or myth).
XP is an indication of an adventurer's skill, strength and power while
Fame is relates to respect & popularity (famous or infamous).

Your Avatar
-----------
A Unique character portrait, hand drawn by Simon Lee Tranter will be
assigned to you at the start of the game.
Later on in the game you will be able to customise it.

Deities
-------
The lands of Arcadia has a complex and detailed mythology and it is
engrained into the very fabric of the world.
There are 14 deities to choose from.

Quests
------
Quests come in all different shapes and sizes. Adventurers are
encouraged to quest, it is a core element of the game.
GameMasters control quests in various ways, they design, create and
set them up.
There are solo and group quests which are available at most
settlements, guilds and temples.
