Introduction:

Magic Exists. It is a force, like gravity or electricity. Like
gravity, it can be measured and felt. Like electricity, it can be
harnessed and put to work. There are huge clouds of it scattered
throughout the universe, as well as small wisps, and even tiny
particles.

As our solar system moves through space, it sometimes encounters these
bits of magic. Arthurian legends weren’t legends. They’re history,
from a time when the Earth passed through a small cloud. Stories of
fairy princesses and wicked witches all have their roots in actual
accounts. A seemingly random comet destroys the dinosaurs. Close, but
not quite the way it went.

It has been centuries since the Earth last passed through a field of
significant size. But often a tiny bit of magic passes through. A
stray particle hits someone who has a startling vision of the future,
or writes stories of hobbits and orcs. Or a loose strand pulses
through a ley line, charging the area around it for days, causing
riots to start, or the Summer of Love.

It has been centuries since the Earth last was immersed in magic.
That’s about to change.

About the Game:

I'm looking for one person to take part in this game/story. The basic
idea is that magic suddenly returns to Earth. A percentage of the
population is affected. Some are transformed by it. Some can use magic
in limited ways. Your character is an average person who has the rare
gift of being able to wield magic almost without limits - although it
will be a while before they get there.

I need a decent writer who's willing to stick with a game. I would
prefer to run it freeform, but can do Modern D20, GURPS, or I'd even
try The Window game system (www.mimgames.com/window). It looks
interesting and it was free last time I looked.
