Well, I finally sprang for some minis for this genre (though
it will be a cold day in Haiti before I pay 30 bucks for one
bloody titan). Specifically, I bought the Space Marine Legion
pack. I don't own a copy of the game myself, so could someone
direct me to information on mounting the minis (ie, what
combinations on a stand correspond to the use in points-
based games) and paint schemes?

I suppose they charge money for the mounting instructions,
and the decals of course. Is it illegal to post such
imformation? Although I think the Citadel folks are making
a killing off this stuff, I wouldn't want anyone to violate
their copyrights (At least, not outside email! ;) )

As an aside, I actually got _6_ sprues of figures in the pack
when 5 sprues would have made up the total count indicated
on the box. Is this uncommon? Did I get lucky on my first
purchase of Space Marine figs? :)

While staring at our terrain collection recently, I realized that,
to my knowledge, GW does not set size guideline for SpMar terrain. When I
was building it, I tended to assume about one foot square or thereabouts
for a hill, grove of trees etc. Since you get 1-3 pieces per 2'x2' area,
that tends to work out to equal chances of sparse, moderate or crowded
sections. In my first scratch-built 2000 pt. exhibition game, we had to
use much smaller pieces of terrain, and I recalled that my Ork opponent
was screwed because he could never fit all of his Goffs into cover, and
the exposed stands invariably got blown away. So:

What size terrain chunks do you folks use?

Do you use any special terrain types? (WH40K had lots of alien
terrain features in the old addition, but not all of it is appropriate
for epic scale)

Can you think of any way in which certain terrain types\combos may be
unfair to certain armies (like, tiny terrain pieces are great for
Eldar and hose the Orks etc.)

While frequenting my favorite Gothic/Industrial hangout, I had occasion
to observe the popularity of a drink called the Snake-Bite, consisting of
half a lager and half a cider. Wasn't half bad, but it occured to me
that the other major Ork clans ought to have drinks named after them, too.
The following were contrived by myself and my roommates. All have been
"field-tested", but satisfaction is by no means guaranteed:

THE GOFF:

1 pint stout
2 shots bourbon
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses

Stir well and quaff. It's black, It's 'eavy, it hits like a bull.

THE BAD MOON

1 glass iced coffee (black)
3 shots corn liquor
1 lemon wedge

Makes a great post-all-nighter breakfast drink.

THE EVIL SUN

1 bottle of lager
1 can of tomato juice
1 raw egg

Another breakfast drink, this one is known as a "red-eye" in the states,
and is favored by many motorcycle enthusiasts.

THE DEATH SKULL

1 mug white hot chocolate
1 shot Bacardi 151 proof
1 shot Blue Curacao (for luck)

THE BLOOD-AXE

1 tumbler sparking red Burgundy, on ice

Gone a bit 'umie, 'aven't they?

Hi I know how you feel I have a Epic Eldar army but I don't own
the game.

The only real way to point up your army is to either:
Buy the game (it's retailing at about 60$ at the moment)
Find a friend (that doesn't collect space marines) who has the game
and buy the point cards off him or buy the cards seperately over
mail order.

About the colour scemes all I can say is that there are a wide
range here are just a few of them:

Blood Angels (Orange)

Dark Angels (the colour I paint my 40k marines.Dark Green normal
men.Bone Terminators)

Ultramarines (blue)

Space Wolves (grey)

Imperial Fists (yellow)

Neat (hi Tox, long time no see!).
My brother and I discussed this and came up with some ideas. Neither of
us drinks alcohol though, so we cannot be held responsible for the
outrageousness or danger-level of any of these concoctions:

THE AVATAR
2 parts vodka
1 part orange Fanta (basically an orange fizzy drink)
It's colourful, fiery, and hits you like a lightning bolt from 12" away.

THE BLOODTHIRSTER
1 part vodka
1 part tomato juice
1 part coca cola
If anyone can think of a bronze coloured liqueur to replace the vodka,
even better.

THE GREAT UNCLEAN ONE
fermented pickle juice + a raw egg
Eeeeeyyuuurrrccchhhh!!!!!

Anyone else have any ideas?

Here's one to add to the list, just off the top of my head:

THE HARLEQUIN
2 1/2 parts vodka
1 part pine/orange/banana and other fruit drinks

It's fruity and it'll knock you on your ass ;).
