my noise marines don't even have a clour scheme. Lots of mettalics and bright
colors. Not like that floresent crap, but bright. They stand out. Loud.

Can't help you here...I use strictly Codex marines. Praise the Emperor's

I've found a really simple but dramatic looking base for my 40K models. I
picked up a small tub of poly-filla. Any plaster-type compound will do, I
imagine. Water it a bit, so it has the consistency of whipped cream. Use a
small Xacto blade to apply it in small dune shapes. Base-paint it either a
dark gray or brown and dry-brush. Voila, ash wastes or mud-world. Yumm.

I find if you paint them some basic colours (dark works well, perhaps
black), and then paint details in the bright colours you get a really good
effect. They stand out without looking overdone. Of course, overdone is
probably what they would really look like, but that's another issue
entirely.

Most people use green anyways because their tabletop is green. Try getting
some pebbles and gluing them to the base, painting them grey, and
drybrushing with a darker or lighter shade for a "war-torn" look that will
go well with a ruined building motif. Or just make the bases serve as a
canvas for pictures.....Paint a huge Khorne mark under a berzerker, draw a
lightning bolt under a Stormboy, just go wild! (not too wild though!)

Its a nice "mystical / magical" colour and suits the noise marines well,
particularly deep purples and blues.
GW used to make a really nice metalic purple, that I used on an Eldar
Warlock. That lloked VERY effective. I dont think they make it now.
You might be able to get the same effect my mixing purple with a metalic
silver, but I dont know. never tied it.
Either way : PURPLE.
>PURPLE.
I agree. Everything should be purple - well, as many things as possible.
It is, after all, my favourite colour. Nothing to do with the, er,
difference between pink and purple, I might add. I have a grey seer wearing
purple robes, and I must say it goes very well with the grey/white fur and
the red eyes, it's a beautiful contrast. Well the colours are anyway ... my
painting skills do leave a little to be desired. My Emperor's Children have
a good deal of purple (probably more than is entirely healthy), and of
course my Genestealer Cult was liberally covered in it ... quite literally,
in the case of my earlier figures ...

For Chaos bases there is only one way to go...
cover the base in a very fine sand. Paint the sand light tan in color. Paint
clear acrylic over the sand, then add Crackle. It brakes up the surface and
gives it the dried out desert look. Next add a few pebbles, or if you have
access to it, mouse bones from your room mates snake cage.

your beer all over the beach?"
The latest GW looks have the models mostly black...I personally don't like
it. I prefer the old noise marine look that was a mishmash of colors and
styles and appearance that was as loud to look at as the sounds the noise
marine weapons make. In this case, the most obnoxious combinations you
can think of will do you good.....:)

Its mine too, although I dont tend to use it much in my eldar. the only
place i could see where it would look right was the Warlocks, and my Warp
Spiders.
The Spiders looked very cool with purple and black.

And I'm using Lich Purple with Shadow Grey for my Swords of
Nemesis chapter. But I'm having trouble getting a good combination of
Purple and any other color for my Battle Sisters... Any suggestions?

A small mind is a tidy mind.
Purple, Black + Gold.
Rename them to Ultraviolent :)
Yellow is the contrasting colour for purple.
Red and Blue are its complimentary colours.

Colors that complement purple in a positive way
are a regal blue and a magenta. Don't go
with a greenish blue or an orangish red.
Black would also do, since most purples
are relatively dark as well.
For your accents, there is no better choice
than gold! Make it a bright, yellowish gold,
far brighter than you might ordinarily use.
I usually base my gold with dark brown. I would
use dun or other light color as a background
for a bright gold, so you get maximum contrast.

I'd thought of doing that if I ever decide to use them with the Blood
Angle rules with their Black Rage and all...

Purple was the chapter colour of the Emperor's Children, from whence came most
of the Noise Marines. In addition, purple rules.
