I know there was an article back in WD200 for the use of chain fists (and
maybe assault cannons?) so here's hoping it went the other way too.
Obviously the older/original version/s had the deathwing/genestealer
expansions etc, and the 2nd version of the PC game apparently had them,
though I never really got into it.
Failing that, SM vs Gene Cult on the SH gaming board might make for
interesting Kill Team (assuming KT still exists in...what version are we up
to, five? I've been in stasis for a while)

Not officially; it was killed off when they brought out ed 5.
Being a cynic I think it was because you could enjoy a quick game in half an
hour or so, and didn't need hundreds of pounds worth of tanks.
There are still various versions of Kill Team for V5 out there on the old
interwab thingy
There was a 'quasi-official' Space Hulk article in 4th Ed 40K. And by
'quasi-official' I mean it got the usual limp-wristed 'I fart in your
general direction' kind of support I've come to expect - no boxed set,
no new minis, etc. Just an artical.
In addition there have been some sites up dedicated to the old 2nd & 1st
Edition rules, as well as adding new content to the old game system.

Sadly there's been little if anything done via GW to resurrect the
old Space Hulk game other than the occassional rules nod here and there.
Obviously the first barrier would be the price - if they priced a new
boxed set according to the going rates for a like number of 40K
Terminators and Genestealers minis plus the additional parts costs, then
very few would buy it. If they price it for less than above then lots
of folks will buy it simply to hork the minis for their 40K games (thus
cutting down on the sale of the full priced minis).

They're very good this evening Sir, I recommend them with the
side serving of cranberry sauce.

2nd edition didn't have those supplements, they were 1st ed. I stopped
playing SH around 1992 and had both the expansions and the WD articles for
adding much more (like Orks, Chaos, Marines in Power Armour, etc). Sold the
lot a few years ago for a lot more than I paid for it (although I later
found out I could have probably sold it for twice that again, oh well).

Rumours are it's up for a new release this year, Games Day might prove a
little more interesting if that's the case.

(warning - it's now up to 42 pages, and filled with various rants and fanboi
gasps).
There was a book (Which I proudly own) called "Space Hulk Campaigns" That
has all of the rules and fluff for hybrids, Patriarchs, Magi (maguses to
you, Ranter) and Brood brothers. It also has rules for Chaos Terminators,
Power Armored Space Marines, Power armored Chaos Marines (They call Chaos
"Traitor marines" in the book). However, these rules are for 1st edition
Space Hulk, not your edition. With a little work, they can be easily adapted
to 2nd edition (Your copy).
Remember: "Space Hulk Campaigns" It's a yellow hardcover with a picture of
hybrids, a magus, and genestealers on the cover.
