There are several ways.
If you like the reflective look, paint it silver, gold, copper, or bronze, then
give it a coat of clear gloss.
You can also paint it to resemble clear, blue, green, or bronzed glass. Just
paint your base coat (blue), then streak on some thin stripes of a lighter
shade (light blue). Follow with clear gloss.
You can also paint it like a jewel, as shown in countless White Dwarfs. Base
color, darker and lighter lines at the top and bottom, a white dot as a
highlight. (It's more complicated than that, especially to make it look good,
but you can see the technique on just about any painted jewel in WD.)

Just to add one other option, you can paint the "glass" silver then wash it the
color (blue) you want the tint to be.
