<snipped stolen crap!>
Hello Dipshit!
I see you've returned to impress us all with your mental short
comings once again. What, did you win the Lotto so that sick child of
yours could have all the gaming supplies he needed to get better, Mr. "I'm
to Poor to buy gaming stuff"? Once again you've done an excellent 'come
from behind' job of out skunking all the other contestants in the "Tard of
the Month" contest.
1. You OBVIOUSLY did NOT write these painting guides - in other words
you're ripping of GW's intellectually property here (and not even very
good painting guides either).
2. You link to pictures directly on GW's site which means you're STEALING
their bandwidth as well as their IP. Need I mention the fact that you've
tried to resize low res pictures and they look like crap?
Stolen content, stolen bandwidth, and CRAP execution do NOT equal useful
posts ya retard! Stop spamming us with this garbage. In fact, YOU might
want to crawl back down your hole and pull a large rock over the top
BEFORE multiple people here report you (and your ISP) to GW's IP and Web
services Departments.

<=======================================================================>
I wonderd how long you could go without joining in with some comments.
Stolen whats stolen? It's not as if I developed a whole website or
something for any gain.
If I save a html page as IE lets me is that stealing since it comes to my
tempory internet pages folder anyway and since the page still refers to the
same GW content at their site , whats stolen? these are just local html
pages that refer to GW images in a format that is better than the original
multi popup version.
and since as i said they still refer to the GW site for the images bandwidth
has not been stolen as you put it.
yes I will conced that perhaps I should have left the GW header/ homepage
ref in .
As for image quality these are resized versions of the larger POPUP images
not the original page ie no more clicking an image to see a not very enlaged
popup
This was aimed at helping guys by enhancing the size of images and removing
unrelated formating and text.
Im sorry if it touched a nerve on the group
I have a directory full of these sort of pages that do the same
eg a local edited yahoo.com homepage with just the search related textbox
and button ergo
no more clutter and adverts just straight to the search engine.
If you are willing to put up with the page garbage when all you want is a
specific item then carry on acceping the naff pages as provided adverts and
all and accept my appology, but don't be so crytical of those not prepared
to be so sheeplike and wish to filter unwanted bandwidth of adverts .
RobD
Does GW sell the articles it publishes in White Dwarf for profit?
Yes. Does GW pay for the bandwidth and hosting space it uses to put up
images on it's web site? Yes. Does GW host new content on its web pages
in hopes of attracting new and on going web surfers in the hopes they'll
become paying customers? Yes. In short you're giving away their content
while making them pay web hosting fees and depriving them of the internet
traffic they hoped to generate. Instead of developing a web site for
gain, you've prevented GW from gaining from the web site THEY developed
for gain. And you don't think this is publicly stealing from them?

If you wanted the content in a different format for your personal
use - great. If you want to redo their content badly (and the pics you
resized look terrible) and use their bandwidth from their website while
giving away their content - not so good.
> and since as i said they still refer to the GW site for the images bandwidth

Are you paying for GW's internet connection and hosting fees? If
not and you're linking to THEIR CONTENT - then yes, you're stealing. It
doesn't take a degree in advertising to figure out that if you want
customers to come to your web site (potentially to buy more of your
product) then you have to keep adding worth while content. When someone
like you comes along and not only reposts their content without their
permission, but also uses their bandwidth to do it, then you're depriving
their website of traffic and potential sales, as well as costing them
money by using the bandwidth and hosting fees that they have to pay to
host the web site in the first place. How damn dense can you really be?
> yes I will conced that perhaps I should have left the GW header/ homepage

No - what you SHOULD have done was read the FAQ and posted a link to
the painting site. Obviously if you can reformat the saved site, so can
damn near anyone else.
> As for image quality these are resized versions of the larger POPUP images
> not the original page ie no more clicking an image to see a not very enlaged

And what? This suddenly makes them better? They're STILL low res
images that have been resized into a larger form and plain look crappy as
hell.

Next time try posting a link to the site and a 'how to reformat' article.

That's a nice rant - sadly it has NOTHING to do with the fact that
you've horked content from GW's web site without permission and reposted
it (in a rather visually poor format - I know you ment well, but it did
NOT work out that way) in a public forum while using GW's bandwidth to do
so. Again, I might suggest that NOW would be a good time to take the hint
- stop bitching because you've done something clueless and gotten flamed
for it, and bail out. In all seriousness, you are looking at potential
problems from GW's IP department if they get wind of this and file a legal
complaint with your ISP. They ARE paying for bandwidth, and they do have
legal recourse when it comes to the theft of their IP. GW even shuts down
pro-GW fan sites if GW feels that the sites are infringing on their IP
rights. GW takes the protection of it's business rights VERY SERIOUSLY.
While you may well have had the best of intentions, you've bungled this
one very badly. Honestly, if you want to add content to the group -
great. More is always better. But there's a right way and a wrong way to
go about it, and this one was definitely one of the wrong ways to do it.
The next time you get a great idea - try posting a question along the
lines of "Would it be well recieved here if I _insert idea here_ and
posted it to the NG?" While you still may get flamed if it's something
obviously covered in the FAQ - you'll at least avoid potential legal
troubles for you and your ISP.

much you are going to have to make per year in order to play.

Yes and my cd burner lets me copy my friends games if I am so inclined, is
that stealing? oh and the rifles in my shed allow me to shoot people too.
Obviously there is no crime if there is a way to do it. Illegal is only
things you 'can't do' eh?

You butt hole. Do you know what stealing bandwidth means?

What's the matter, Rob baby? Proper punctuation and spelling too much for you?
Just what is your problem with understanding that this is a NON-binary (that
means no pictures) and NON-HTML newsgroup? Is plain test too complex for you?
