I chose to try to run over my opponents Carnifex, that had been in HTH with
it the previous turn. The Carnifex had Toughened Exoskeleton and Acid
Blood. It failed the initiative roll to avoid being hit, and was killed,
suffering 15 Wounds.
Logically, the Acid Blood splashes onto my Predator and deals 10, Strength 9
hits. From what I've found in the rules, I believe that since the hit took
place during the movement phase (a ram) and Acid Blood states "If a model is
wounded or killed in HTH all models in base-to-base with it will suffer an
automatic hit."
So logically the Acid Blood would splash my tank, but the rules indicate
otherwise. Can anyone clarify for me??
Thanks

Ditto. Running over someone is tantamount to killing it in HtH. Heck, check out
"Aliens", they run over an Alien with their APC and its acid blood ruins the
driveshaft.

A really good example of how interrelated the rules are not...
Anyhow, at one point the Carni was in contact with the Predator. In fact,
after being splattered across the windshield, it is still in contact.
However, in a sense this is a drive-by and not HtH, so by the rules, the
Acid Blood would not work. But, since you did actually have to physically
hit the Carni, then the Acid Blood should still splash on the Pred.
A good case for a house rule I think.

Are you asking if your tank doesn't get splashed since your tank didn't kill it
in the HTH _phase_? If that is the question, the answer is that it _does_ get
splashed. The rules state "in HTH", _NOT_ "in the HTH phase".
What the rules are trying to say (IMHO) is that the model that gets splashed
has to be close enough for the blood splash to reach it. In any case, wereI a
"Nid player, and you had just run over my Carni and then tried to argue that it
doesn't get splashed because it didn't run over it in the HTH _phase_ I would
whip out a gun and shoot you on the spot. :)
We're all here 'cause we ain't all there!
Let logic reign supreme. The rules cannot cover every situation, so when
they don't, let the spirit of the rules prevail and be logical. Splash that
tank!

Do you want to rephrase that. Tanks cause lots of people to die and
it's usually from a kilometer away. (Just joking)
Yeah, you hit the bug now you got to except that it's going to sprayed
across the windshield.

The acidic blood from the alien did NOT ruin, burn or in any other way
effect the transaxle as so many have said. in the movie screenplay as well
as in the teleoplay (book of the book with staging and such included) the
problem they have with the vehicle's transaxle is caused by a break from an
exceptionally hard impact with the ground after the tank get's all but
airborn during the wild ride they take in it.
Not taking sides in this argument but just pointing out a correction.

Okay, so the acid blood weakened the transaxle and then, due to its new
weakness, the axle snapped due to Ripley's Airbone Antics.

Ever had to pull a skunk out from under your car after it goes "squish"?
If skunk musk was acid my car would be an unrecognizable heap of bubbling
goo on top of stinking terribly.
