Looks like the locals want to start an escalation league after the New
Year at the local GW.

The Rules:

1) start at 350 points, increments 150 points each week.

2) $50 to get in, which will go towards prizes at end.

3) 1 HQ and 1 Troop to start.

4) Must be all new models bought from the store, this is to keep some
of the local cheesehounds away and to get some business to the store
itself.

5) Scoring: Win: 3 Points, Tie: 2 Points, Lose: 1 Point. Are all
models painted and based (3 colors): yes: 3 points, no: 0 points.
Sportmanship: points given or taken as judged by store manager (who is
a pretty fair guy IMO)

6) First HQ and 1st Troop must stay in army, otherwise army can change
week to week,

I think I'm going to go with Noise Marines. It's an army I wanted to
do anyway.

350 points would get me a squad of 10 kitted out and a Sorceror with
Lash. Playing with numbers tonight.

the next 150 points will either be 2 Obliterators or another squad of
Noise Marines.

Thinking about rolling a Lash Prince and a Vindicator in there as
points allow.

See quick little point below...

If I understand correctly: All minis used must be bought at That
Store...New.
Why would they need the $50 entrance fee unless they plan on giving away a
Land Lamourghini as thrid prize?

Everyone is fair until the lettuce comes up. Then it's blades...

I haven't played against chaos (Just alongside them), but my friend tells me
the Khorne berzerkers are insanely powerful. That was before Codex Win MK1
came out though...

I may have misunderstood... I got the quick and dirty rundown. I think
it is still a bit of a work in progress.

I'm not too worried about it as I'm playing to (try to) have fun and
do an army I wanted to do anyway.

yes, Khorne is stupidly powerful.. but I already have a ton of
berserkers and frankly don't want more as I
a) have like 60 of the things
b) think the models are rubbish.

I'm also thinking about petitioning to be allowed to use my Daemons
since I just bought 4 boxes of Bloodletters at the store this month.
a Skulltaker and I'm done.

Though I also pointed out the 350 points is 10 Daemonettes and a
Keeper of Secrets to the guys... Apparently that would be negative
sports points unless I only used it against one of the local cheese
monkeys...

Great! So, "We'll tell you where and when you can buy models.
Then, if we don't like your choices, we'll handicap your list.
Because WE'RE promoting sales for a broken game."

Gosh, I'm just dying to hear how this turns out.
