I had Squats but sold them to focus on a more cohesive and powerful
army. I chose the Eldar. So I'm turning the $$ from these sales into my
eldar army which had a nice start but desperately needed
'reinforcements'. I now have grav platforms and jet bikes that I didn't
have before. I also have started a bit of marines.

I never stopped to count ;) Probably over 700 figurines.
> DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
Paint.
> IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
I've won and lost. I've stopped entering contests because I got tired of
miniatures being included with all 3D art. i.e... competing against goblets,
masks, staffs... And because of the lack of security at the local conventions.

I don't have favorites. My tastes are rather diverse. Basically what ever
catches my eye, and would enjoy painting.

Not a problem, I trade links.

Currently I am sitting around 300. I had about 200 40K figs but I sold
all that stuff.
> DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
I paint my stuff. I don't collect mini's I don't intend to play, but I
have had the urge to paint something like an Epic Chaos Titan lately.
> IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
I have never competed.
> PICTURES OF YOUR WINNING MINI'S OR YOU ENTIRE COLLECTION
I haven't taken any pictures of any mini's yet.
> YOUR FAVORITE MINI TYPE! (ex: you have 3000 dwarves and only 650 other

All time favorites are the Orcs, Goblins and Dwarves (talk about
opposite extremes, eh?)
> HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN COLLECTING
On and off for six years. Keep in mind though that I have sold two
completely painted armies, and a third unpainted one. They were Crimson
Fists, Blood Angels and Space Wolves Respectively. Oh, I also had about
300 Orks for 40K that I sold. Most of them weren't even assembled.

I haven't built a site yet. I've been too damn busy. I do have some
webspace though and intend to build one sometime this year.

I play mostly for fun since in the few tourneys I've been in people's
egos get in the way. I think I'll try another one in a few months.
Otherwise I just really get a kick out of Fantasy Battles.

ABout 300 to 400 I think. Not really sure since I've never been
concerned about how many I have

> HOW MANY MINI'S DO YOU HAVE ? 100-1000, 10,000?? (mine is at 1000+)
I probably have about 200 or so figures.
> DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
I started out just painting miniatures for role-playing characters,
but got into the painting aspect of it almost exclusively. Now I mainly
buy only miniatures which are well sculpted or will paint up nicely.
> IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
I really got into minis when I began winning contests. I've won
numerous contests, with many "1st" and "Best of Shows", mostly in the
San Francisco Bay Area, but also at Origins 95 when it came to San Jose.
> PICTURES OF YOUR WINNING MINI'S OR YOU ENTIRE COLLECTION
I have some scanned and plan to do my own web site sometime this
year.
> YOUR FAVORITE MINI TYPE!
Monsters are my favorites! Specifically, the ones by a particular
Grenadier sculptor in the mid-80's (don't know his name, but he sculpted
many of the Monster Manual and Call of Cthulu monsters). They just had
such character!
I also like Tom Meier's work (for Ral Partha and independantly),
the new Reaper "Dark Heaven" minis (esp Sandra Garrity's), and Jes Goodwin's
figures for GW (Eldar especially!!)
> HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN COLLECTING

I haven't actually counted them, but I've got a few hundred, not all
of them Citadel minis.
: DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
I paint more than I play, so I suppose you could call that a collection
in itself.
: IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
Never competed, never won.
: PICTURES OF YOUR WINNING MINI'S OR YOU ENTIRE COLLECTION
Don't have a camera with a close-up lens.
: YOUR FAVORITE MINI TYPE! (ex: you have 3000 dwarves and only 650 other
: various mini's)
I like the character minis - more detail, single minis encourage you to
take the time to lavish attention on them. I've always liked the Eldar
(the concept, not the minis necessarily), so when I started out in 40K
I started collecting/painting them. Now I'm branching out into Space
Marines (boring except for the characters) and IG (haven't actually
painted any yet, but I'm working on doing up a Cadian squad in Martian
colours, and then eventually an entire army).
: HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN COLLECTING
I've been collecting/painting Citadel minis for about 2 years now, but
I've been painting other miniatures for around 8 altogether.

I would hazard mine's at about 2000, though I've never counted. Total
weight's about 300 lbs.
> > DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
I paint far more than I play. I collect 2 things: Citadel/GW Dwarves and
the stereotypical half-naked female (I admit, they're fun to paint).
I also buy just about anything Julie Guthrie sculpts. Other than that, I
pick up anything that look remarkable or innovative.
> > IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
I have, though I really don't get into the whole competition thing.
Friends do say I should enter more often, but I think I'd enjoy painting
less if I was worrying about whether the final product would look good to
the judges.
> > PICTURES OF YOUR WINNING MINI'S OR YOU ENTIRE COLLECTION
Eventually, but not yet.
> > YOUR FAVORITE MINI TYPE!
No real favorites -- I tend to judge minis individually, not by genre. I
do like starships and mecha. I also like painting the 'humanoid' form --
from the bulked-up male or the shapely female or the over-weight troll.
I find thin and 'natural' very boring to paint.
> > HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN COLLECTING
Since my first introduction to D&D in 1977. Minis have come a long way
since then.

300-400 (estimated). Whose counting?
> DO YOU PAINT OR JUST COLLECT??
I collect figures that I think would be fun to paint. My collection
doesn't have any sort of cohesiveness -- I've never painted an army of
orks or anything like that although I've painted many individual orks. My
theme preference is fantasy although I have a number of Warhammer 40,000
and Necromunda pieces in my collection; after painting robes, swords and
chainmail, painting blasters, body armour and chainsaws is a nice change.
I even have a couple of starships and robots in my collection -- again,
breaks from the swords and sorcery stuff.
> IF YOU PAINT HAVE YOU EVER COMPETED AND WON??
I've never competed although I have judged miniature painting contests.
> PICTURES OF YOUR WINNING MINI'S OR YOU ENTIRE COLLECTION
Sorry, can't help you here -- don't have any.
> YOUR FAVORITE MINI TYPE! (ex: you have 3000 dwarves and only 650 other
> various mini's)
Generally I prefer fantasy figures over all others. I like figures
that look active; a wild looking berserker rushing forward in a frenzied
attack is more interesting to me than some guy just standing there, at the
ready. I'm particularly fond of birds (giant eagles, big hawks, you get
the idea) and other critters that fly -- dragons, angels, harpies,
elementals, Warhammer 40K Eldar Swooping Hawks.... I'm attracted to
anything with wings. As far as humanoids go I prefer female figures over
male although I'm tired of the stereotypical half-naked fantasy heroine.
No more Red Sonjas.
In so far as manufacturers go my favourites, based on what I've bought
over the years, are Rafm and Ral Partha. I think these companies make the
best looking people (a term which I use to include elves and dwarves).
Citadel's people look a little heavy-handed, although I think they make
some of the nicest beasties on the market. Recently I've bought a few
Reaper miniatures and I'm growing quite fond of them too.
