Hi all. Any one have suggestions or tips for painting water/wake for
ships. In particular, I'm looking at painting the bases for some 1/6000
Figurehead ships (WW2 Pacific Theatre). Also, is a green tint or a blue
tint better? This is my first foray into naval miniatures and I have
absolutely no idea how to make water look natural.

Thanks,

Wayne

When doing water I paint the base a very dark blue with some black ink (or is
it black with some blue added?;-)

Once dry I use the Xtra fine RI flocking gel. It dries clear. I put the gel on
liberally and as it gets taky will use a toothpick to create waves around the
bow.

The waves cav then be given a slight drybrush of white for whitecaps.
