In an effort to find out about any sites on the web, i was wondering what
people really loved out there that I may be overlooking. So let's hear
about all those great sites for miniature wargaming that are out
there...any period, any genre...

Dear Mr. Paulson,
I trust it is not out of line for me as Editor-Not-So-In-Chief of BY
JINGO! to recommend our site to you for a visit.
While dedicated to Colonial/19th Century Military History and Wargames
(with forays into other times, places), we have gotten some very nice
compliments from people whose interests lie elsewhere. We have tried to
give the best (and most useful) graphics and other material of any 'zine and
hope to get even close to our ideal. Please drop in and draw your own
conclusions at:
http://members.spree.com/sip/byjingo/
We'll save you a seat and see you there!

I'll just list a few - there are more that are also quite good.

(all of the sites listed below are linked to from
http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu/~goode/links.html#wargaming
as are other interesting sites plus (unfortunately) a number of broken links)

For sheer beauty and utility, The Major-General Tremorden Rederring's
Colonial-Era Wargames Page (in the "clubs/USA/Texas" section of my links)

For the incredible volume of useful material, De Bellis Homepagius (in
the "DBX" section)

For its creator's commitment to rapid expansion of his site with useful
and interesting material, The DBA Resource Page (in the "DBX" section)

The Miniatures Page by Bill Armintrout, of course. The basic online
reference for miniature wargamers.

A lot of great sites have already been mentioned, but I'd like to put in a
plug for Mark Bakke's Night Owl MK II Wargamers Webpages...a collection of
links to great pages along with some annotated info to help you pick and
choose your destinations:

Chris Brantley's DBA Resource page is the best site I've seen on the WWW. It
is informative for ANY ancient gamer, not just disciples of Barker. Good
gaming&painting.

For the most fun, its got to be "The Major-General Tremorden Rederring's
Colonial-Era Wargames Page"

I third this nomination! I am not a colonial wargamer at all (Brits vs
Fuzzy-Wuzzies, I don't get it!) but this is a great web site. I love how he
used a photo editor to add scenic backdrops to his wargame pictures.
Ed Allen's page is great for the volume of information available.

I could not agree more - it is enormously useful and very very well
done.

I second that on the M-G's page - even though my miniature gaming interests
are almost entirely sci-fi/mecha related, the Major-General's site is a *must
see* for anyone in this hobby. 5 stars, definitely!

I'd go with The Miniatures Page and The Major General's page, both previously
listed, but also with Terragenesis, the terrain site. It has a
science-fiction bent to it, but should be overall useful.

I have found several new and wonderful sites through this thread. However
the one below is nothing more than a crass commercial. I don't think this
thread's participants intended this to become an avenue for backhanded
spamming.
