Where can I buy brushes?

My local hobby store has a sporadic supply of brushes. What is the best brand
of brush and where can I order them from in the USA? I paint 6mm exclusively
so I need only the smallest range of brush sizes. I have a Floquil 10/0 that
is perfect for my needs. Where can I get more brushes this size? On a side
note, how does the size scale for brushes work? What is the range?

I get my brushes at a craft store for $1.50 each...Michaels. have been for
several years now and find them quite adequate.

$1.50 is too expensive. Buy them in dozen quantities and the price drops to
less than .60 per brush. My wife is still looking for the catalog...will
post the address later today.
Don't pay too much for too little!

I wish I could say that I had the same experience. Every time I try a
$1.50 10/0 brush (regardless of the exact line) from Michaels they last
all of about a week before the ends start to curl horribly. The quality
of the brush just isn't there, in my experience, with cheaper brushes.
I'm still buying $5 Floquils 10/0 (with which I never have a curling
problem) though I wish something as good for less money were available.

I have the same problem. I'm not sure if mine is from over use or if it's cheap
brushes. I've tried some of the more expensive brushes. My big problem with
ordering sight unseen is I am picky about getting chewed tips on my brushes when
I buy them. I look through the packs for brushes with nice even tips.

Look in the painting section of your local Craft's store. Some place that sells
crafts. Art store. Some office supply stores even carry then. Cost will vary. I
get American Painter brushes at Garden Ridge. Pay from 2 to 3 bucks a piece. If
you want to try out some of the water based paints. I can recommend the apple
barrel, and dream coate. Also your brushes shouldn't be to far from these. They'll
be either with the oil/water color paints and easles, or around the other types of
artist's paints. Art stores most often carry a large selection of brushes, but
they do tend to be expensive.
