Overview: The FNG-1A Fang represents Strakor's first landmark of
independence as a manufacturer. Produced under contract with the Lyran
Commonwealth, the 40-ton 'Mech was the corporation's first
autonomously produced design, with nearly every component produced in
their own plants. The first blueprint was drawn up in 2821, and the
first Fang was produced in March 2822.

After the first several production runs, Strakor was allowed to sell
the Fang to other governments; several contracted Strakor for variant
configurations.

Capabilities: With a single large laser supplemented by eight short-
range missile tubes, the FNG-1A Fang is fully capable of heavily
damaging 'Mechs of equal or lighter weight classes, and even being a
dangerous foe to larger 'Mechs. Its top speed of 97kph and six and a
half tons of Fiber-Plate Medium armor ensure a fair amount of
survivability.

The Fang was held in high regard by its pilots, who were thrilled to
watch as enemy light and medium BattleMechs shattered under their
laser and SRM barrages, while at the same time being able to keep up
with or outrun most medium 'Mechs.
