New Member Introduction 
  Hi all, I started playing mahjong earlier this year (HKOS, IIRC), and have become a bit obsessed with it. I've joined mahjongtime and played MCR rules there several times. I'm still really awful at it. I've also tried kong88.com, and the 1-on-1 variant there is a fun fast game, but very different because nearly half the tiles are honors.... more »

A Chinese Word for Ten-Thousand-Myriad? 
  Lu Rong (1436-1494) described a deck of 38 cards consisting 4 suits. The English translation was published in the Playing-Card Vol. xxix Num 3.
