Announcing the Non-Comp Review Project 2005!
I'm on a mission to get reviews of all the non-comp IF games of 2005. Fortunately, I have a plan. The plan is at: http://www.springthing.net/noncomp/noncomp2005.htm It is a highly complex plan, but in a nutshell it involves recruiting a Already there are a small handful of people in the Crack Team. The Non-Comp Review Project does not intend to compete with Note #2. Want to write a review and have it appear in SPAG before the Note #3. I'm not meaning to take any glory away from the IF Comp That's it! I hope to hear from a few people. Thanks! Greg You must Sign in before you can post messages.

For instance, Jimmy Maher's review of Wumpus 2000 is really good, and I'm tempted to just ask him permission to use it right now, but I was going to wait to see if somebody else wanted to write a new review of the game. Also, some of the previous reviews are quite long. I don't think most Greg You must Sign in before you can post messages.

I like the way this site provides a list of non-comp games that haven't
been reviewed yet. Many of these games might otherwise get no attention whatsoever, which would be discouraging to the authors. Why would anyone write a second game if nobody played their first one? It's a good deed (and good for the genre in general) when people take the time to review a game of unknown quality from a new author. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

I thought your site was a way of gathering all previously published reviews in one place, whereas my project involves recruiting reviewers for a more specific goal. I don't think our sites are at odds with each other. In fact, I promise to personally twist the arm of all my reviewers, telling them to submit their review to your site (in addition to mine). As Mike said, my project was around last year, too. I announced it in http://www.springthing.net/noncomp/noncomp2004.htm That's roughly what this year's project will look like when it's Here's what I can promise: However, you may have to give me until next week to follow through on Greg You must Sign in before you can post messages.

I dont feel disapointed by the announce of your project, on the I really would like to make sure that everyone understands that im not All I stated was that I was in the proccess of trying to achive It's important for IF that people get involved in projects like our's! There's no need to promise anything to me (well except that you will As for my personal project, it began with a post that was placed here I trully expect the participation of the IF community to surprise us Like in other actual "consumer" areas, the "consumer" likes to be very Well I guess that everyone already got the idea, so I will stop :) Once again, best of luck with your project.
