Hello,
I am trying to play the latest If competition games, particularly the
ZCode and Glulxe offerings.
I've noticed some odd trouble getting Filfre, which I was lead to
believe supported screen readers quite well, to work. It seems on
some games there is text which is missing, or chopped off the right
edge of what I can read, if that makes any sense. Perhaps I'm just
not using the appropriate version? All I know is that Windows Frotz
has even less support for my program, so...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Zack.

Hi There,

James back again. What you should do there is to go into option and set
the font to courier new instead of the fixed width and that will fix it.

Hiya,
I've just done so, and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
Lord Bellwater's Secret, in particular, causes me some annoyance. Is
this a trick of Glulx games in particular? Do I just need to restart
Filfre before the font change will take?
Thanks,
Zack.

I wouldn't have thought so but do check the window is maximised because
I noticed this. Sometimes with Window-eyes running it tends to be in a
normal state.

Hi, Zack...

You do need to restart a game before the font changes take effect. This
means restarting from the File menu of the interpreter, not just by
typing "restart" at a game prompt.
