Is this building game good? what's it ment to be some kind of horror
deal? Are the puzzles difficult?
Anyones thought/minny reviews welcome.

I played it briefly when it first came out. Unfortunately, I wasn't
able to make much progress; I found that I couldn't trust the game was
still playable after encountering one too many bugs. And I got
discouraged that I was never able to find a portable lightsource.
The game itself is vaguely similar to Babel or Losing Your Grip, in
which the PC's identity is unclear, and you must explore a building to
get flashbacks or insights as to what's going on. Also, the prose can
be rather purple in places; your enjoyment of the game might be
enhanced or reduced depending on how much you like or dislike that kind
of thing.
The few puzzles that I was able to solve were, for the most part,
challenging but fair. One of the earliest puzzles does involve a method
which you can use for solving subsequent puzzles; this is a very good
thing. I did, however, wander the game's locations many times in vain,
unable to make progress because I didn't know what to do, and this
happened fairly often as well. After a point, I just gave up, but I
should probably try the game again. Eventually. :)

Coincidentally, I started playing this game yesterday -- and tonight I
did find a light source. Anyone, feel free to email me if you want to
know how, or if you want to swap info. :) I managed to get 95 points
so far, and I know where I can find some more if only I didn't keep
dying afterwards.
In other respects, I basically agree with David Welbourn's description
-- purple prose, fair but hard puzzles, lots of wandering around not
sure what to do next. I'm hoping to finish and write a review for the
Noncomp Review Project.

Daphne,
Maybe you could also write a ifreview of it to include at www.ifreviews.org

I'm sure that the author would appreciate bug reports as to the purple
prose, as his intention was to minimize the purple prose. I know this,
'cause I'm the author. :) :)

As to the Purple Prose:-
Your style of prose is verbosely vivid in abstract/emotional
descriptions of every location, it's a matter of taste whether people
like this or not.. You'll always get suggestions as to cut down on the
elaborate and extravagant exaggerated sentiments.

I'm at around 150 points and am at a loss as to what to do next. I
can't get into either the cafeteria or the locked side room on the top
floor. And what's up with the little dark building? And does the
watch get heavy anywhere? help...
Matt
I've got 150 points, have the mirror and ring (but not a watch...), also
can't
get into the cafeteria, the side door (the one which merely gets mentioned
in its own description), past the blue lights, achieve anything with the
circuit breakers, east wall, or do anything in the room n of the cubes.
I assume
the sphere is droppable through the side door.
Try going nw from one of the rooms w of the building for a splendid bug.
I'm not certain why many of the exterior rooms are present (eg those leading
to the busy road), either.
Hints welcome!

-> The breaker switch yields a passage.
-> If you find the wrecked lobby, the key to the side door is close at
hand.
-> Don't worry about the room beyond the oak door until you've visited
the area with the flickering blue lights.
-> Reading books may help you more than you think.
I've not been able to do anything of note with the Cafeteria or the odd
east wall.. and I've not found a ring yet, I'd like a hint as to
where/how this was achieved.
And as far as I can tell the watch is only draining me with it's poison
while worn, haven't found a real use for it yet.
Good luck!

when i flip the breaker and go back to the utility hall, the room
description mentions a faint blue glow coming from the east. However,
I can't examine it or interact with it in any way, and in fact can only
see it if i'm carrying the sphere. I also see nothing unusual about
the east wall. Is this a bug?
This is not a bug, and if it is- it's not important. I think you are
connecting two of my hints that have nothing to do with each other.
I don't think this is a bug either -- I think it's a way of saying
"after you go north from where you are, the room to the east of it is
glowing blue", which is sort of the case.
Good luck to all!

Thanks for the hints and am also stuck. only got 25 points so far. Done
the bit with the watch and skeleton, the office with the radio but not
able to get much further. It seems to be a big game though. O yeah I
also listened to the conversaation in the office through the vent but
not sure what else to do. Any ideas on things to try? Cryptic as usual
folks.

Haven't succeeded with either of these yet. Do I have to plough through
all the switches, or are we talking a1 only? There's a limit to how far
one can wander before the lights come back on, and so far haven't seen a
passage anywhere.

Both done, and thanks.

Ditto on cafeteria and odd east wall. To find the ring you need to go
sailing south, and remember to take the weight off your feet. I wasn't
impressed with the solution here, I have to say. It was pure luck I found
it.

Well, I only just found it!

Thanks for the hints so far...
Found the ring(never would have gotten that without help!). Still
clueless about the breaker and finding the key to the side room,
though...
Cheers,
Matt
(Turns out there is somewhere you can get into when the power is
off...)
Thanks everyone...
Matt
I've solved the game with 265 out of 250 exp.
There were some bugs, mostly connected with the lake area, but nothing
that a previous save couldnt fix. Nice work Poster !
PS: There is only one breaker (a1).
Meeting Side Room description says " The golden sphere feels excruciatingly
heavy" . Im drop it , but nothing seems to happen. Is this a bug?
where i should search for ring?

Not a bug with the sphere -- although I thought so for a minute. It
says something about being brighter, so you have to LOOK IN it, or I
think SEARCH works too. I don't know any way to be vague about that
hint. :)
