I have just finished a book on Bushido ( it's an spanish edition, so the title may be different from the english version), where it's explained that young samurais ( age 5 ) when being introduced to bushido had to perform a ritual where they received their armour, helmet, sword... which were previously placed on a go board. Anyone knows anything of this kind?

I've heard of it before. I think I saw a reference in some Judo book, but since i have browsed about 100 or so of them there is no way of knowing which one. Go board was symbol of inteligence in ritual.
In some samurai clans playing go was art of the training of samurai. Alonside poetry and other martial arts :-)
