I have been reading your posts. Where you have gone from a Kyu player
(like me, I am 3k) to 3d in an incredibly short period of time. Where
you find that playing Kyu strength players is boring and that commented
games by 6d players are boring and a waste of your time.
Something doesn't ring true:) I bet you don't like to play 3kyu's like
me because we beat you to a bloody pulp. I also don't think you like
looking at stronger players games because you don't have a clue about
what they are doing and I also don't buy the claim that you went from 2k
to 3d at all.
What I am proposing is a match, you should be able to give me 6 stones
but I think I can beat you even. I am on IGS most weekday mornings,
just tell me when you want to get beaten and I will happily oblige :)

Unfortunately, due to a past indiscretion, frl can't meet you on IGS.

Many people would be interested in the results of such a match, but you
neglected some necessary details. What is your IGS nickname? In what
time zone are you on IGS in the morning?

If you mean Fu is banned from IGS, he is not. However,
his shameful past might prevent him from accepting the
challenge. Also how would he look like if he lost? :-)
He dare not accept!

You are right :)
I am Legrande on IGS, I have over 2500 rated games on IGS, I am pretty
certain I am a solid 3k player, if I can use the word "solid" with 3k :)
I am from Utah so my mornings are Mountain Standard Time. But my
schedule is pretty flexible so I can meet Fu almost anytime :) I
certainly won't hinder the match based on available time.

I don't use IGS. Come to KGS and we will have a demonstration game (not sure
but I dont think IGS has this capability). We will post the results and
commentaries here on the NG.
My account name is taiji.

That's correct. If I was banned, I would merely log on from a different IP.
One of the reasons I have not been banned is probably because tweet
couldn't ban me if he tried ;)

You mean how I was caught with my hand in the cookie jar at 3 years old?
Tweedie when will you let me live that one down?
I was so respected on IGS that one of my games with robinl was posted on
your FTP site. The game has since been removed. Don't deny it tweedie, you
just don't like me now because I left you for KGS.

I did accept, providing that the matches be held on KGS.
I am being challenged, I accept, but dont expect me to fly down there and
play a game on your goban.

Maybe because you still act like a spoiled child.
You escaped from two of our games, and refused to enter done when you
clearly lost. Instead you kept playing useless moves.

No, you did not accpet. The challenge is to meet at IGS, not KGS. :-)

This all seems incredibly childish, but perhaps a neutral venue could be
arranged.

A third party, logged on to each Go Server, could relay moves
between two games, going both ways at once in each direction.

You can challenge me and I will accept, but I will not fly over there to
play on your goban.

Obviously, you will never become a professional player.

It will be likely for others ro reveal those reasons for you.

I'm fairly confident that the KGS rating system will accomodate it.

Is IGS gonna pay my ticket?
Likewise is IGS going to create a 1k* account on IGS for me to play around
with? It must be named taiji or kungfu, taiji if possible.

So by implication it would be likely for one such as you or me or tweet
(others) to reveal the reasons why pros play anonymously. Explain.

9d? No. I don't think you know what you are talking about here jb.

For those who don't have KGS accounts, I just took a look at Fu's
"taiji" account. He is clearly established as 1k, having played a large
number of games. Has was 2k for many months, and became 1k about a
month ago, but has played over a dozen rated games since then. The name
"Fu, Ren-li" appears in the account info.
So he is clearly a seasoned, capable Go player, but not a dan.
m AKA zenguy (13k)
Fu,
I downloaded a KGS program for my mac and played a few games yesterday.
The interface is interesting. It is easy to learn, but it seems
shallow. What was most annoying was that I couln't simply type in
replies while playing a game. I had to click in the box with my cursor
before typing, I really didn't like that. The other thing I didn't like
was it would lag at odd times and I would have to click multiple times
to place a stone. It was also hard to find people with a similar
strength.
All that aside, I could probably live with it. My problem is that I
looked up "taiji" and it is a 1k account. My challenge is not to you as
a 1k, you may very well be a KGS 1k. I am not disputing that. What I am
disputing is that you are a 3dan, if you insist that we play on KGS why
shouldn't it be with your 3d account? Could it be that you don't have a
3d account?
I am not sure what you mean by a demonstration game? A non rated game?
Multiple observers? What?
LG Harris
Stop quibbling, man, and play some games! He can't get a 3d account
because he is only 1k in strength. There are a whole bunch of us who
want to see the games.

m, you have already seen one. You were just not paying close enough
attention to them :)

So when do you want to play? Monday at 10 A.M. MST would be ideal for
me. But like I said I am flexible. I would like to play sooner rather
than later though :)

Ticket for what ? First, you must purchase your certification.

What difference does it make what the account-name is ?

Pros play anonymously so that they can experiment, play
quickly, sometimes play amateurs without having to charge them.
Also, Hikaru wants the identity of "Sai" to remain a secret ... :-)
