This newsgroup is for the game of Go. This newsgroup is not for
machines.
I now understand something that has been happening here.
A spammer posts some spam - but I don't see it because my Usenet server has recognised it as spam, and not served it to me. Then Brent replies, with title and content both "spam" - and I see that. I used to think that this was a deliberate attempt by Brent to drive people away from here, or maybe to http://www.lifein19x19.com . Now I know better.

I was not sure, so I have tried to find out:) It has helped me to
recall a spam treatment here several years ago, when someone issued
message kills to fight spam.

I see it as possibly driving away people who know enough about usenet
to have their own client, but those people long ago made up their mind
about rec.games.go. The new folks coming into rec.games.goo are much
more likely to enter through google groups, and I believe that
retitling helps on that front.
