[further condition and bidding information at end]

Howdy All,

Attention Greyhawkers: I have one of the most obscure Greyhawk
references you will ever find: The Official AD&D Coloring Album, written
by Gary Gygax and illustrated by Greg Irons. The album is a story set in
the World of Greyhawk, a dice-using solo game called Adventures in the
Dungeon (based on AD&D), and a set of illustrations to color in. In all
their are 14+ illustrations, 14+ pages of story text, game instructions,
and a map of the dungeon beneath the ruins of the
lich's castle-keep.

The story begins in Dyvers on shores of the Lake of Unknown Depths, at
the Green Dragon Inn, where a group of characters prepare to set forth to
recover a holy relic of St. Cuthbert. Their destination is a ruined
castle-keep that is several days by horse. The group includes: Parlun
Jall, a fighter-leader, Ergwhi, Trelli Grey-Sides, and Ukeli, a trio of
dwarves, Sertern, a priest of St. Cuthbert, a human ranger, two human
fighters, an elven fighter-thief, and two halfling thieves.

They are charged with the recovery of the Holy Talisman of St. Cuthbert
(new relic). This quest takes the company to a castle-keep ruins that is
the ancient dwelling of a lich. Here the party must wrest the long
hidden Talisman from the dread lich, who in turn summons his lover, a
nightmare-riding, night hag named Strovolla to bring demonic and devilish
aid.

The party then faces a series of obstacles and guardians set by the dread
lich: a beholder, an umber hulk, the Demogorgon and several new demon
types, an endless battle between gnolls and hobgoblins, an ettin, a xorn,
a flame salamander, a quaist, a su monster, and Tiamat herself!

The story is pretty serious for a coloring album. The party fearfully
fight demons, an eye-tyrant, and worse! Many of the company are slain
and wounded most horribly. There are even some tremendously sad and
somber parts to the story.

Fortunately, the party is not alone in their venture. A powerful ki-rin
and his griffon servant guide the party and aid them with a powerful new
magic item.

The lair also has access points to several planes: the Nine Hells, City
of Brass, where the party enlists the aid of an efreeti, "the airy
reaches of the ether that surrounds the higher planes", where one of the
halflings receives a gift from the griffon servant of a "god-like"
ki-rin, Hades, and possibly the Elemental Planes of Air, Fire, and Earth.

The story includes many NEW magic items, spells, monsters (such as Iron
Skeletons of Grusyin), personages, and even a new artifact.

The Adventures in the Dungeon game included, presents four pre-made
heroes: Adelhardt the Paladin, Krylla the Rangeress, Ibli the dwarf, and
Regalan the Wizard. These four are charged with the same quest and must
face the same challenges of the story-group plus: a Type IV demon, a
giant octopus, and many more.

The illustrations depict: the city of Dyvers overlooking the Nyr Dyv (you
should see the ships!), the Green Dragon Inn, all of the adventuring
company, Sertern in his full cleric of St. Cuthbert regailia, including
his holy symbol and a relic of St. Cuthbert, the lich, Strovolla, new
monster types, and more. Each illustration depicts part of the story,
always showing the adventuring company. In addition, Gygax includes
detailed descriptions of clothing, armorial colors, dwarven, elven, and
halfing eye, hair, and skin colors, monster coloration, clerical colors,
and more!

This album was written during Gygax's prime Greyhawk era, c. 1979. The
illustrations are likewise classic black and white linework and have the
attention to detail of that era, reminiscent of Trampier, Roslof, Otus,
Dee, etc. In my opinion it is one of the classics, albeit obscure.
There is sooo much great Greyhawk information (30 pages of it!) in the
album, I couldn't possibly list it all here. Its like getting a whole
new Gygax adventure module or short story set in Greyhawk. I have a copy
and now you can have one too!

almost no wear. The interior is in perfect shape except for coloring
