Description: Fantasy role-playing with TSR's Dungeons and Dragons.

max speed for an LA+0 PC race
So, I've been thinking about Harold's small-s scout build -- basically, whisper gnome for +hide, move, spot, listen, then high move for running away when detective. Start with move 30, add barbarian +10 unnamed bonus, cleric with celerity domain for another +10 bonus. A ring with Longstrider was probably in there somewhere for another +30, and if... more »

Legal fight over D&D movie rights
[link] When I posted this to my G+ gaming circle I said "The legal fight might be more entertaining than either movie" but perhaps I'm just remembering regretting spending a couple of bucks on a used copy of the first one. The one with Jeremy Irons chewing scenery (figuratively, though... more »

Losing your Saving Throw
Not failing to make a Saving Throw - but not getting a Save at all even when you would normally have one. That's what I'm talking about. How many ways can you think (in 3.5) that a person can actually lose the ability to try to make a Save?

Carnivorous Races
I recently did a video about carnivorous races. Specifically about the logistical nightmare of feeding a large population of full-time meat eaters. It is my thought that such a race can work on a small scale, like a wolf pack population but not on the large, army sized lots you see in many fantasy games or films. That ogres or hill giants are good... more »

Disjunction Dispute
Our Dm fired a warning shot across the bows last night. Our own spellcasters can cast 7th (and in some cases 8th) level spells and we rely on buffing spells a lot. On a GREATER TELEPORT (but NOT part of a Scry/Buff/Teleport sequence - we have a Gentleman's Agreement not to use those in either direction) we arrived at our destination "and you... more »

OotS plot moving right along
[link] [link] Three major characters dead in the last ten strips, though given the history of the comic and the fact that it's DND-based, they shouldn't remain that way long. Comic hasn't really been funny in a long time, and as a story it's only... more »
