There's Arcane Sight. And Wizard Eye, and I think there's a monster
called Eye of Pain. Baleful Eye maybe, although Baleful Gaze is more
descriptive I guess.

3" is pretty short, in 1e it'd be 30 feet since spell ranges don't
change. I thought of doing something like +1 on save per inch making
it more effective at closer range, but that's a bit fiddly so I
dropped it. I'll have to look if there's any ranges for other gaze
attacks. I should probably include something about having to be able
to see the M-U too.

Heh, that might be a bit much, but first you have to get the
Catoblepas eyes, and I left it a bit couched in case the DM didn't
want to allow that.
