My wife's attitude is, "Well, you could have much worse addictions than
books."

Just had two more PDFs bound today. :)

Yeah, about as messy as my apartment. I don't have that much shelf
space though.

You have nothing on a friend of mine in Massachusettes. While not
roleplaying games, he has lots and lots and lots and lots of board
games, card games, stuffed animals, toy animals, and furbies. His
living room has two full walls of shelves with DVDs of movies and tv
shows. If "Toy Story" was real, his house would be a metropolis.

I know some folks in the SCA who have more shelf space than you, but I
don't think they have as much rpg materials as you do.

I have known people in the SCA like that as well. One couple has an
entire room of bookshelves. It's like a maze with one narrow, winding
path between them, like some fictitious fantasy library from a novel.
Quite scary actually. But I have yet to see a bigger RPG collection than
mine. :)

Yours is probably broader than mine. I'm not sure about size-wise,
though -- yours might be bigger, but even if not, it's gotta be close.

Let's see... currently I have about 40-50 lineal feet of RPG books, plus
magazines. About half of that is 3.x material, the other half is mostly
mixed. Probably about an eighth is pre-3.x D&D. I have only a single
shelf (about 2') worth of HERO material, a little bit less of GURPS,
the rest is mostly mixed, often only a handful of books (and sometimes
only one) for a particular system.

Plus technical books (about 12-15 feet; I recently got rid of about 8-10
feet of books for things I don't use or do any more). And paperbacks
(mmm.... 60-70 feet? 4*7*2, double-stacked in places). Plus my wife's
books (comparable to my paperbacks -- her shelving units aren't as tall,
but her books are shorter).

I've got 22 bookshelves. Twenty-two, baby! :)

I've got four shelving units of RPG material... but there are between
four and seven shelves each, mostly about two feet wide. Oh, and
magazines are stored on a different set of shelves entirely, but I
dumped most of my Dragon Magazines (up to issue 250) when I got the
Dragon CD set.

I've got less than I used to. I am most fond of my Over the Edge set,
which is missing only a couple of Edgeworks issues. At this point I
don't have anything I can't imagine playing sometime in the next couple
of years. To play /everything/ I still have would require a bit more
spare time than I've got, but still!

I think all told the RPGs would come to around 20 feet or so. Maybe a
bit less.

I have no idea what all I have.

Around 1,000 books of many different types, sizes, and genres. SF,
archaeology, science, astronomy, history, computer books. Lots of
Judges Guild and TSR books and modules. Everquest rpg books, Gurps
books, various odd games bought from other gamers at the local sf
convention. Anime like Ghost in the Shell and .hack/sign. A dice
collection of around 2,000 dice of many different sizes and number of
faces. I should probably inventory all of my rpg stuff.

apparently. i have one and a half billys of RPG books, total 22.5 ft.
add another couple of feet of dragon magazines in filing boxes, and one
foot of 4e books at my workdesk.

modest, i know, but i like to think that the quality of the collection
counts for something as well.
