Description: Flames and rebuttals about various role-playing systems.

Looking for "antique" information
This goes back about thirty years, so unless there are some old-timers here I may be barking up the wrong tree. There was a booklet called "Ares..." (most likely) or "Mars..." in a red jacket, with black lettering and graphics, that I used to own. It carried extensive lists of combat resolution tables for melee, small... more »

Question for the group: Are people actually playing 4th Ed. D&D or just posting to spite WOTC
MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=US-ASCII I've read through the books and I find the game unplayable and barely recognizeable as D&D. I thought 3.x Ed was bad until this atrocity hit the shelves. Now 3.x Ed looks like a classic to me. Not looking to start a flame or versions war, I'm just curious.... more »

Testing theories of player types
I've noticed a number of theories that divide players into types: GNS, Robin's Laws, perhaps others. In 2002, this person: ([link]) seems to have tested such a theory for MMORPGs. The original theory divided players into 4 categories: achievers, explorers, socializers, and... more »
