WinAce problems

Hello all just starting playing empire again after a bit of a break. I plan on
setting up some server in the future etc. In the meantime I am having a problem
with WinACE. It was running fine on my laptop but now my map is all black. I
looked at all the color setting and everything is right. Tried re-installing.
Also erasing everything about iwnace form my registry (very little) and still
no good. It work on other ocmputer si have a home. Anyone have this problem
and/or know how to fix it?

F4 (Select Color Scheme)
Select Normal Color Scheme
press Reset Colors button
press OK button

Follow the same sequence for the other color schems (Conditional,
Graduated and Del)

Also Reset Colors for Shift F4 (Select Player Colors)

a different problem

d/l the new .50 patch

when it runs, it wants to fire off the msiexec installer

first time I killed it, second time I tried it (what the heck), but
then I get an error that msiexec must be run directly

??

To use the patch file, just extract the executable into the WinACE
directory and replace the existing WinACE.exe.
To extract, you can use a Windows Explorer Extract File option or a
tool like WinZIP or 7-Zip.

Do not try and execute it from inside the zip file.
