Just curious - looks like the last post I can find was Nov 2006 - no goodbye though... ;)

Was his real name Tom Tedrick? Like *THE* Tom Tedrick?

YAY! Its been years since you've posted, I think. Do you still join
games? Why no longer posting? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

Cheers, m8!

AHA! The From field - even though it says Ako...@aol.com (sadly, not
Akor...@aol.com666 :p), shows tom.t...@gmail.com! CONFIRMED!

This is only special b/c I never actually knew, LOL, until I read some
old posts in r.g.e

Cheers again!

This of course makes me go - uh, Tom Tedrick is Afrika Korps.... what
do you mean is it "The Tom Tedrick" - I mean, who else would it be?
Guess I need to break out google / linkedin / whatever to figure out
what you are talking about - apparently I should be impressed or
something.

Which leads to the next question - what do all of the people who I
used to play empire with do anyway. Something tells me that
1) it would be surprising
2) some people might not want to be found

"Professor Mirkwood, its come to my understanding that you used to
stay up all hours, and play silly games in the Internet cira 1990 -
what would you say to your current students?"
"Um - don't lose?"

Does anyone have a list of names to real life? I know Pat is out
there, and I think I could reach Geoff if I had to. I actually got a
kick today when I opened my google wave invite and someones name in my
wave contacts. Fifteen minutes later I realized it was someone else
from empire.

Maybe we should start a google empire wave.....

They are all in the Empire old folks home playing checkers. That consists of
them watching the clock for 4-6 hours, and then *bam*bam* they both slap
down
their moves and sit back to wait for the next update so they can move again.
In the meantime they carp about how them wimpy young whipper-snappers won't
even play in a game where they don't have at least 24 hours between moves.

They wouldn't let me have harm...@google.com. I tried. I may try
again for just an alias this time.

beep wouldn't go for it, but we've had instant messaging for, what, 30
years? Instead of Wave, how does this sound?

Riverworld II
Opening "soon"
First and every update Feb. 29
64x2048 world
New players get sanctuaries at the edge of the current set of players
Fully open game database, so
1) deities can play
2) players can back up the game and restart it if all deities drop
off between updates

Does anyone have Merc, KSU, or BSD empire source? This should really
be run on a mainframe emulator. Does anyone remember setting it up on
a PDP-11 or Vax?

-harmless

I do mobile dev (iPhone/Android). Being banned/hated in empire is
great, I can now spend update time doing other things, and I'm not
talking 'bout tweetin'.

Scott
ps: empire is dead, long live empire!
