Wow! I had forgotten all about newsgroups...
I don't think I've been here since 1989...
What ever happened to the U-Dub server? Anybody go that far back?
Steve
Hi Steve, I think I remember you..... were you also one of the voters for
breaking out rec.games.diplomacy separately? I think 1989 was when we did
that.
Eventually, the original U-Dub Judge server went away, seems that was
about 1993 or so.....
There aren't too many other readers/writers here other than me that go
back to the beginning. But welcome back. You could count as a re-newbie
and standby for one of the openings that have just been posted.....

I played my first few Judge games on USWA in '91 - '93,
and then shifted to USCA and USEF in the Fall of '94
after USWA went off-line. It looks as though Ken Lowe
still works at the University, doing UNIX stuff, but
the Judge is long gone.

As always, Eric is precise, but my guesses weren't too far off..... yes, I
know people have contacted Ken Lowe in recent years, he has "moved on to
other things" but is still at U-Dub.

Thanks! I just gave the web interface a try, but it seems not to accept
the passcode it just created...
I'll give it another go in a bit.
Steve
For good ole judge games, mail me directly for help. The email address
above is good. You don't have to pay dues like a total newb if you've
completed a judge game before and can remember what an uncuttable
support is.
Chris
Well, I was speaking of my personal experience, based on fuzzy
memories from 15 years ago, and a quick search of my games on
floc.net. A more thorough search shows that while activity
on USWA dropped off significantly in late '93, the last game
started on 12-13-94, and the last game ended on 08-09-95.
Eric.

Yes, I would work with Chris who is actively GMing Judge games, I think
it's been almost ten years since I last GMed a Judge game, at least it
seems that long.
Welcome back,
