What, oh what, can be behind that screen?
Lord British (of Ultima fame, as if you didn't know) has a website
called http://www.lordbritishpresents.com/
It has a counter on it ticking down days, hours, minutes, seconds (at
the time of this writing, it has just a touch more than four days to
go).
What will be revealed when that counter reaches 00:00:00:00 ?
A great mystery!
Unfortunately, it is a mystery that only marginally intrigues me.
"Lord British" has not inspired me for close on twenty years. His
software products have been forgettable since Ultima 7, and I've
little interest in his exploits on the edge of space. He's become like
that kooky uncle you thought was really awesome as a kid but now as an
adult you realize he is a half-insane alcoholic and you try to
distance yourself from him. Still, it's never to late for rehab, so as
the time ticks down, there's a little part of me that hopes the king
of Texas has turned himself around... but the more cynical part
seriously doubts it.

I am cautious, but curious anyway about it. It could be a very good

game, as well as an awful one : if Garriot does try to do something
exactly like in the old days, without concession to the "derpiness" (as
they say sometimes on the interweb) of the new games, then it might turn
out an alright game... I am not expecting "great" by this time.
If not, well...
