Hail All

A few items I picked up on this morning.

Orc Mages can be really nasty now. I ran into one down in Hythloth 2
that cast explosions and flamestrike REALLY fast on me. Thanks to
Stormblade for the res. I haven't died to a single orc mage in months!
In my opinion, these are a tad too tough now. Time to rewrite all those
monster descriptions out there. A gargoyle I ran into to didn't do half
the damage.

Hell Hounds now give gold. Ranged from 25 to 125. Worth killing now.

Cya'll later.

Ah, but don't forget about the dreaded liche, the latest patch has deprived
him of his vaulted magery. They do hit a tad bit harder, but all in all,
very VERY easy to kill now. Spectres now use magery. Fire elementels are
WAY meaner than they were. Just a few of the differences I have noticed.

How did you solve it? I bet it uses terrain to your advantage right?
Maybe the old lure them up on the bridge and firewall them trick?

What I think you are missing is that this patch introduced some type
of unknown variable into the mix. Some monsters are now especially
tough, far far more tough then they should be. They cast 60 point
ebolts, resist 90% of spells against them, seem to have infinite mana,

and seem to dodge arrows. It appears totally random to me. Last night
me and my friend were killing gargs in Hyth 4. Ever hour or so a
supergarg or orc would spawn and take all the mana from 2 people to
kill. You've seen my stats and let me assure you I don;t fight melee
so if they dodge arrows and resist magic I'm up a creek.

The problem with selling your account UT is that you cannot remove
your credit card info from their system. Whoever you sell it too will
have the number and unless you make sure they know your the fuzz, they
might try and screw you.

I can imagine what this level would be like if there were more players.

A friend of mine was killed by ...of all things..a corpser. It did 70
pts of damage and due to the suprise she didnt get out of the way fast
enough. Bang...dead. Now my friend has a moderately strong character
and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into these killer corpsers.
Thx

I think you've pinned it down. I'm surprised UT didn't notice that if he was
there for hours. I ran into another orc mage last night that flamestruk me.
~40 pts damage, with 50 Resist and full plate.. Thats 2 for 2. Maybe they're
more along the lines of ogre mages now. Thats bad, since they do wander the
woods.

Btw, I saw blade spirits getting dispelled by dragons in Destard immediately.
So that makes them a lot harder to kill, especially individually.

Lichs are without magic? Now thats a shame...I really liked them the way they
were. Heck of a challenge for a single player if you didn't use BladeSpirits.

Killer corpsers are nothing compared to the reapers. Tried one the
other night (with backup) - three flamestrikes in 5 seconds. OUCH!!

Yes Corpsers also seem to have been tweaked a bit. Imagine my
surprise...

Me and 2 friends were in Hyth last night, (see the hiding post above
for the end of that evening :( ) and an Orc mage appeared in front of
my friend. she takes an initial ebolt and then a flurry of
small/medium spells no problem, and is whacking away at it. I see a
chest spawn down screen and go to get it thinking its all over. Boy
was I right. As soon as I am out of healing range the orc make lets
loose with 2 ebolts, a flames strike and an explosion in about 3
seconds flat. 00oo0000ooooo00000oooo000 for my friend and I spent the
rest of the evening thinking, I should have been there...no wait, a
3/4 dead orc mage shouldn't be able to pull 120 mana out of its ass
after casting a dozen spells already.

The blades in hyth make fine new walls. They sit there and the
monsters over right on the edge of them. Actually getting one to
attack is another matter. When I did manage it the blade spirit
promptly turned away from the fight and started attacking me from half
way cross the room. SO I had the blade after me and an orc after the
blade and we al went running around in circles hehehe.

Yeah Lich's are broke, another well known fact from tc that was
ignored come patch time.

I just know they do more damage. And take more killin to kill them. And then
you get 13 gp.
