Do I sell my house deed back to any npc architect or do I need
to sell it to a special npc broker and, if so, where might I find
one?

You sell it to a real estate broker and you find those in the same places as
architects.

Go to a carpenter shop. Find the Broker. Tell her/him "apprise" (may be
other spelling).
You will be asked to give her/him the deed. Money will be transfered to

Thanks, I finally found the realtor in Britain. My problem had been
that, of the 6 or 7 architects I knew about, none had a broker with
them. I'm not fond of Britain (go there about once a year ;-) so it
was the last place I checked but the broker was there and I was able
to sell.

I got the full price. I even bought a large brick house (reason I sold
my small one), tried all day to place it and sold it back for the full
purchase price so I guess the broker system works now. This was in
Britain. Note that pre-patch deeds are still stealable so use caution.
